Oh. my. god.
I was never personally into RPGs but HOLY SHIT I'VE BEEN MISSING OUT ON THIS FOR TOO LONG.
Everything, from the characters to the music to the areas to the writing and the gameplay is just absolutely impeccable, the game's theme of choice and consequences is beautifully and expertly handled, even if its subtly going on in the background while you play (and accidentally leading you to a bad ending for one mistake).
I had so many moments that took me by surprise because of how used to gaming conventions I've become used to over time, RPG or otherwise, I'm glad that I've had a completely refreshing new experience with this and I'd completely recommend for anyone to give a go.

A silly guessing game that's surprisingly fun to get Akinator confused about who you're thinking and he has really good expressions. Something silly to do every once in a while

2 stars is generous. While the visuals are the stand out in this game, the motion controls are horrific and unfun and every corner you turn your annoying companion explains the theory of relativity to you. As a visual novel it's fine but as a game it flops.

What more can be said about Wii Sports that hasn't already been said? Despite being a tech demo it has cemented itself as one of the best selling games of all time (even if it was a pack-in game with the Wii). It's really simple pick up and play fun that anyone can play.
It might be really really good, but I personally prefer Wii Sports Resort, since that is a much fuller game with a lot more diverse content.

A remarkable visual novel, having excellent characters, stories, trials, and TWO WHOLE FINALES that are the two best cases in the trilogy. While it takes a while to get on the same wavelength as the game, it lets you use your intelligence, rather than dropping hints all the time. Very worth the mental investment.

Better than subway surfer, don't @ me

Frankly one of the best games of all time, whether remake or not, it's hard to have an bad time with this. The story and gameplay ramp up at the same time and it works beautifully, having story elements appear, then a new direction in gameplay, back and forth creating a wonderful experience, and kept me very engaged throughout!
The controls seem clunky in the modern day, but I enjoyed this aspect of having control taking away, as it strengthens the tense atmosphere when fighting ganados, and the pointer aim on wii is immaculate, no matter what anyone says.
The Mercenaries mode is also incredibly fun to try and get high scores on, definitely worth a try after completing the main game
Another Resident Evil masterpiece by Capcom

A step up from its SNES counterpart, with some pretty ground breaking stuff for the time aesthetically and plays significantly better in my opinion. The 3D visuals significantly improve on awareness, meaning you won't get blocked off by hard to see flat sprites, and creates more interesting and uneven ground. The controls are still a little hard to get used to but extremely satisfying to get down right.

An incredible multiplayer platformer that leads to crazy outcomes every time with the sheer variety of stages, hazards, maps, tweak-able settings and more that makes it all a blast with multiple people!
Trying to make paths around or through obstacles to the end while also trying to sabotage others is always a fun time and highly under-utilised in party games like this. Well worth a try if you have 3 or more people to spare!

The game lives up to it's title as the ultimate smash bros game, bringing back and balancing every character back from previous titles as well as adding brand new ones and DLC too! It also brings back a fair amount of the sweaty Melee gameplay, making it perfect for tournaments. The only real fault in the game are the spirits which aren't nearly as fun to collect as trophies and the adventure mode relies on them so it's really weak to me but the focus is on the excellent multiplayer game, so it doesn't bother me too much

Its angry birds but with a star wars flavour to it, a decent mobile game overall. They had content locked for the longest time that my young self couldn't figure out why I couldn't play it. Good in doctor's waiting rooms

The game that started it all, a pretty alright Mario Kart for the time, but with improvement upon improvement with every subsequent title, this game feels quite bad to play, but in a charming way! The controls are super slippery, like you're playing on ice all the time and the CPU rubberband to hell and back but I don't think it could be any other way, otherwise the future games might have stagnated, who knows. Even if its extremely dated now, it is still worth a shot to try.

The wackiest, most testosterone filled game I think I've ever played (if you are trans masc I bet you'd transition in a couple sittings).
The puns are stupid, the art is perfect for the silly tone and the gameplay is explosive and fast with a wide variety of fun character abilities to use. Not something I can play for long spans of time, but is a fantastic time with friends.

A really fun party game that mashes up all the ideas of the Wii series games up to that point together to form a brilliant set of minigames and party modes! There's such a plethora of things to do that I can't talk about everything in depth, but every minigame is solid and the boards could be a little better I still applaud them for doing something unique with them. Overall a really underrated game from the Wii series that I wish people experienced over Mario Party

2010

A beautiful and tricky puzzle platformer that nails its lonely/creepy atmosphere and black and white aesthetic, looking like a war-time cartoon. Sometimes the puzzles or progression were unintuitive but it felt almost completely seamless throughout. Props to the team that made this because it is a phenomenal and unique platformer
