More Picross if that’s your thing!

(Played the remake on PS4, streamed on twitch)

I am shocked to say, outside of some annoyances, the game aged extremely well. Obviously fighting with Donald's unconscious body and an occasionally wonky AI, it still presents a pleasent and oddly charming adventure.

DARKNESS DARKNESS FRIENDSHIP HEARTS is basically the entire story and it is, well, what it is. It was slightly before the current curve of shonen anime where it be like "HURRAY FOR FRIENDSHIP" which is why I am fairly forgiving in terms of story.

I did beat all optional bosses, even got the ultima weapon. I truly enjoyed playing all parts of the game. Truly wonderful.

It’s a game. I’d be more satisfied if there were less crashes. Literally completely side quest crashes the game almost every time. Including going to the shop. Save often. Anyways, it was a game.

2018

Buggy af, puzzles kept glitching :\ great concept, poor execution and puzzles were mad confusing

Adequate souls-like with anime flair. I personally wasn’t too attached to the story so I didn’t do many vestiges once I had the build I wanted. The “life is strange”-like way of telling the stories of side characters and successors is neat but I didn’t feel so attached to anyone. Not to mention I found them a little annoying after awhile. A one off way of telling a few stories makes sense but jeeeeeeez, it was too much.

Bosses aren’t super memorable and levels were sometimes annoying to navigate through. I wish there was a bit more direction after beating a boss. I felt like sometimes I was derping around not knowing where I was going.

The game is good. I had fun playing it nonetheless. The character creator is very fun! Combat was enjoyable. I honestly think if you like soul-like games, it’s worth grabbing on sale.

I played the PS4 version on a normal PS4 and it had some frame rate issues but luckily it was never in combat. I know some people are bothered by that stuff. I’m not however. Figured it was worth noting though.

Played on original PS4, no DLC. Got platinum trophy.

Spooder-Man on the PS4 was a great experience. The web swinging was way more fun than I was expecting and the story got me excited about Spider-Man again. Since the 90s, my interest in Spider-Man has fluctuated a lot, but this gets me truly excited for future game releases within this franchise—well, I hope it’ll be one. Judging the fact there is a sequel (haven’t played yet), that seems to be the plan.

Aside from minor inconveniences, ranging from freezing/glitches to small gameplay inconveniences like no restart option in the pause menu during timed challenges (a must honestly), taskmaster challenges being rough, and puzzles in the lab using a cursor for navigation, there wasn’t many flaws I can think of at the moment. The game manages its open world well and never felt overwhelming to explore. Web swinging really aided in exploration. It made exploring NYC a lot of fun and the virtual tourism aspect, while not the first, but among the most enjoyable.

The Inner Demons gang was a bit annoying story wise. I’m really sick of eastern Asians being the antagonist in everything. It isn’t about Mr. Negative, himself. I really enjoyed him a lot. It was about the Inner Demons itself. I wouldn’t be as bothered by it if it wasn’t explicitly clear that there were only Chinese people in the gang. Whenever you invaded a base, they would always be speaking in Mandarin just showing that somehow, someway, their entire gang, one that has to be large enough to take over NYC, was Chinese exclusively. Mr. Negative runs the Inner Demons in the comics as well as being Chinese but that doesn’t mean the gang itself ALL have to be Chinese/Asian minions. C’mon man.

That was my biggest issue. Even then, Spooder-Man really proves that a Spider-Man game can exist on modern consoles and I do look forward to its future! What a really fun experience! Exceeded all my expectations! Octavius is a villain that should be utilized more often, especially in culture as a whole. I look forward to his return in the MCU!

Good VN QOL improvements like speeding up text and transparency of the text box. Some other fun features available in more VNs are missing but doesn’t damper one of the best and most innovative games on the DS/GBA. Excellent games worth revisiting.

Very fun remaster! Definitely recommend to all story of seasons fans :3

Story was a great mystery. Would wanna read an essay by an actual doctor about it. I’m very curious how accurate some things are. Great side stories, very Yakuza, plenty of stuff to do. I think it said I did only 62% of it all and I clocked at 60 hours. Tons to love and enjoy.

The game isn’t bad at all. It’s fun and cute, however, the first person perspective makes me sick. I collected about half of the bugsnax and I think I’m all set.

Played on PS5

It is exceptionally hard to top Virtue. I didn’t expect this one to. The art direction is very 2013 with Telltale vibes so it has not aged well... a game in 2016 with 2013 graphics is very off putting. Once you get past that, the puzzles, story and characters (f*** Eric though) are absolutely worth it.

Some puzzles were a little much and I hate cursor movement on console games.

All in all, as a game, it’s pretty solid 4/5 but however, considering it an end to a solid franchise, it’s very meh. Again, it is hard to top Virtue. I doubt I’ll play a point and click adventure game better than Virtue for many years. I felt the impact of the end wasn’t as strong as I was hoping.

Anyways though, ignore the predated graphics. You’ll get use to it. It’s worth playing if you’re invested in the franchise.

Played on PS5, never played the original, beat all 16 colossi

I have so many issues ranging from lack of any useful UI, camera issues and lack of tutorials. I don’t want to bother elaborating because I foresee so many people disagreeing anyways. I had fun on some boss fights but the world being so empty and constant frustrations made this game so unlikable to me.

Agro is my best friend tho

I appreciate its place in gaming history. Playing the original when it came out must’ve been mind blowing beyond words. It clearly inspired a lot of devs.

I really enjoyed this game a ton. You can see where games like Phoenix Wright originated.

They kept it very very true to the original which was extremely annoying at times. There isn’t always good hints and sometimes it feels like you’re hearing the same stuff over and over but the story and characters really save it.

Truly a wonderful score, art and story. I also excited a lot of the subtle animations as well. I will be getting the next game.

This was short but very good. Depending on your perception of value to price ratio, for me it’s worth it but the short length might make the price look daunting. Might want to get it in sale if you think the time should reflect price. If you’re looking for a good short story where price isn’t an issue, I’d say jump at it.

I really enjoyed the end despite me guessing it about halfway through.

It isn’t a bad game, it just sucks that they didn’t do many QOL improvements to gameplay.
