My first Uncharted game, and it gripped me the way Nathan Drake grips a rock jutting out of a precipice while being shot at by mercs. I don't usually like cut-scenes, but I was invested in each story beat and relationship. The best example of a cinematic-type game.

The first few minutes on Zebes gave me chills. Un-put-downable.

Tons of fun and heckin' difficult. The animations are incredible for SNES (the first level boss beating itself on the ground upon death is visceral). Beating a level rewards you with a tasty riff and a new still image of Bill and Lance doing a badass pose. Totally sick. Roasting aliens with the flamethrower is like eating a seratonin gusher.

Popping zombie heads with bullets and wrestling moves is a jam. It's scary - I had to put the controller down and recover after the first time my head was sawed off. Mercenaries mode could be a standalone game. Mega Dr. Salvador swinging his chainsaw around reminds me of the end of Texas Chainsaw Massacre.
