Game rocks when it's not asking you to scale big heights (if you played then you know what areas I'm talking about). Otherwise an upgrade to the original on all fronts. Can't say I like it more than the original though

This is a miserable experience both mechanically and in terms of recapturing the magic of the series

good overall expansion on the cast's characters. sophia and zenkichi were welcome additions, with sophia now a top 5 P5 character for me. gameplay's solid, ost slaps. writing is still P5 writing so it has its ups and downs. villains are all relatable and understandable before you trash them, which is a welcome change compared to 5.

my complaints would be that the writers forgot that this is indeed an action game and there's a few times where it feels like you're slogged in persona friendly banter when you wanna bash some heads in. the other being how ridiculous some of the higher level personas are to fuse. pixie is commonly a low level, early persona/demon. at max you'll train it to all of its skills learned, which would be idk lv9-12. quite a few of the late game personas want stupid things like a minimum lv40 pixie or lv55 variant of a lv20 persona. things no one would ever do unless you're really attached to certain personas.

fun romp. everyone's fun to play as long as your name isn't hugo. as a fan of metroid i welcomed the exploration and power up collecting. the use of powers as multi-faceted abilities outside of purely damage was very cool and made the gameplay more and more rewarding to pick up on. characters are obviously the weakest part of this game, but yunica and the third character plus a few others left a strong impression on me (hugo for the wrong reasons). definitely give it a whirl if you can.

bamco continues to swindle me and i continue to enjoy it

- Gameplay could use some work. It's fully serviceable and it runs fine, but the core mechanics are fairly simple, easy to master, and not that varied outside of magic.
- Story has excellent themes within a flow of tragedy that stops for no one. Everyone and everything are at Yoko Taro's mercy and he demands upset and suffering at every turn.
- Music's a banger. Not much else to say.
Overall: Magnificent, start to finish.

Game's awful.

Things that suck:
- gameplay: poorly designed third person shooter. the second you perform the game's actions in the tutorial you can feel the clunk a mile away.
- level design: padded out to hell and back with collectibles that no one tells you are the key to unlocking literally everything from defense to weapons to passives. stages are too long, enemies respawn fairly fast and endlessly in most stages, no way to look at the entirety of the stage's map so i hope you memorize everything as you go.

Things that were nice (to me ofc):
- characters: very archetypical cast. as you progress however, you'll find that the game doesn't forget where it takes place. each character has their own screwed up reasons for being here and it adds feeling to what they do and why they do it
- story: surprisingly interesting. if the game wasn't so padded to hell with meaningless levels and teasing encounters that don't amount to much, maybe i could say more for it. the concept is interesting, the twists stand out, and the endings offer some small semblance of replayability.
- npc's (?): not sure what else to call them normally, but the girls you're either saving or relieving in each level. this isn't entirely a positive as a couple levels flop this entirely, but the idea that you're saving girls from the brink of going to hell or bringing peace to those that have already died is a cool idea. this, however, can range from a girl waging radical war against trees due to allergies to a girl who killed herself due to her constant hunger for attention and praise leading her to developing a compulsive lying habit that never truly filled that void, leading her to kill herself. if i were to gauge them, i would say 30% of the stories in these levels are throwaway stuff that doesn't mean anything to anyone. the other 70% can be predictable with some degree of relatability to fairly complex. really makes you wonder why that amount of detail didn't go into the rest of the game

Free platinum. That's what it gets half a star for.

good game, good gaming. levels had a surprising amount of variety and challenge for all skill levels. has a great deal of charm, ost's great, and the lack of lives means you can try segments as many times as you need to figure them out. would definitely suggest for people that enjoy platformers

had a great time revisiting colors. still a fantastic game through and through. didn't mind the bugs people complained about as i hardly noticed them and never had anything game breaking like crashes or levels glitching in odd ways

played on ps4. outstanding +

they just don't miss. no i don't know what size matters is

metroid has never been this good or this exciting. don't leave us mercury steam
