Least Popular Game Played Per Year 1990-2023

Shamelessly ripped off from Tangysphere's and ZapRowsDower's lists

Qix

Pretty good puzzle game
Yoshi
Part of a bunch of japanese game boy games I bought from a guy on ebay once
FMV game I watched on VC with friends
also VC
Another japanese import
An old gem of a strategy management game, check it out
I was filtered tbh, the controls seem to be made for you to use a joystick which I do not have, its either slow cumbersome keyboard controls or inverted mouselook which cannot be changed, I just couldn't adapt to that type of shit
Its got the jank and sincerity, but its too boring to play to make it worth the while imo
Another japanese import
Diablo style game set in the qin dynasty, its cool but it wasn't really my thing
Played as a kid
Like Prince of Qin
Self explanatory
Shitty DS stealth game
Surprisingly fun Card Game
Addicted to this shit when I was like 14
Its cool, it inspired "In Other Waters" but I find it a bit stressful (intentionally so, obviously, but by the 5th mission or so I found it too frustrating to bother with)
Cool little adv game
Addicted to this game in high school, it aint great and its grindtastic to encourage microtransactions, but its not hard to beat free so I never needed to.
Just go and play it, its short and free
Solo dev no man's sky/elite, scrappy charm, if inelegant
An interesting Yuri VN
Cool interactive fiction story about a fictional disease affecting miners
Wanted to like it, but beyond the setting I find it boring
Random BL novel I found on itch idk
Based on a famous chinese poem, pretty
Its a stressful seamstress simulator, sounds silly but its surprisingly sharp

"A Butterfly's Dream: Be a Butterfly in this beautiful and relaxing game with no goals or enemies. Based on a Zen tale."

I'm sorry, I'll never buy this game, so there is no other place for me to rant, but

Apparently, this is the description on the Steam page, which means it was put up there by the devs. And like, are they willfully ignorant? A butterfly's dream is a parable from the book of Zhuangzi, an ancient Chinese philosopher of the Daoist tradition that lived in the Warring States period. Zen Buddhism wouldn't originate for another several hundreds of years after. Yet another example of Western commodification of Eastern philosophies and terminology. "Just call it Zen because it's Eastern and sounds relaxing." Disgusting.
