Played this at like 5 or 6 years old, didn't speak any english.
Love it to death, the premise and the whole world may seem just a nerdy sci fi adventure. But the sound design, music and atmosphere in this game is like a dreamlike sequence. The player is alone to explore the world against robots that seem more like walking nightmares.
You can see that a lot of what made this game is more incidental rather than deliberate when they made Pegasus Prime. Now there are tons of characters that speak a lot(incredibly annoing and not funny), more flashy, the overall tone is more funny/lighthearted like a 80's scifi B-movie.

This shows the problem with sequels in gaming.Just add more for the sake of iteration.
Puzzles are ok, but besides a couple a new mechanics it doesn't evolve past entries.
The story is honestly stupid, vapid philosophy. The first didn't have this problem because the characters (the terminal?, elohim/god and the doctor) while they ramble about philosophy it was more about expressing their motivations and desires. Here characters are just stand ins for ideology rather than actual people, more of a liberal view, like the problems of the world are just because of diferent ideas.

It's okey, didn't loved it.
BG3 success as an CRPG above the others is more of production value than any other thing. The combat system is really good but the fights are very tedious. The flexibility is pretty awesome but the quests, level design and the writing is subpar for me.
I really hate a lot of the characters here, and some of them besides being horny/quirky don't add much to me.
Honestly the best character is Lazael, she challenges the player (in good ways but also in racist ways) and her storyline should actually be the main focues instead of the squid gang trying to kill humanity. Specially after the ending, Lazael basically peaces off to actually liberate her people. Like I actually wanted to go and do that!
The Githrianky storyline is really the most interesting part of the game, and it should actually be the center of it all. An impostor goddess that is lying to rule over the race that is supposedly created to destroy the evil squids and big brain is super interesintg but's just a companion quest that is not even resolved at the end, she just leaves to do the fun thing actually lmao.

A vibrant artstyle and just a beautiful soundtrack, a game about rebirth, nature and nurture with typical metroidvania stuff but also gardening!
It has an interesting concept, the way you uncover the different parts of the map and use the gardening mechanics is interesting but really undercooked, they can be very complex but barely explored to its full potential and at the end a lot of it seems perfunctory?
It drags a lot towards the end and to get the real ending is tedious, specially when you can look at in youtube and its so boring really

Really pretty, but beyond that not really that much. Couldn't tell you what's the point of the game, what characters are beyond Senua and couple of the friends.
Sure for AAA gaming it's good to have a game where it tries something different, it's short. But honestly that is not good enough for me, if you make a 5 hour walking simulator you could really have gone way harder for it at this point!
The characters are barely there, they have some background but you barely care about them, just plot points to follow with a tragic backstory, except the slave guy, he saw Senua kill the giants and now he sees the truth so he is good I guess!! LMAO, also the giants are not real, maybe its a shared trauma but people died who knows how and what they represented? Maybe they were people or not real or something? Who knows!
After playing Lorelei and 1000xResist I am so tired of these 3rd person games having the same camera angle, SPECIALLY for a game like this, most of the times Senua showing in front is just a distraction. Nier really showed how to create a 3rd person action game with great camera and the industry decided not to learn nothing about it!
Honestly the combat itself is boring too, but I laud it because instead of going the traditional gaming route of adding more complexity it at least tries to make it so it fits what the game is trying to do, not "gamyfing" (ironically) it to make it palatable to its audience. The puzzles though? Less of them, and even them less inspired and interesting than the previous one.
It semed to me that Ninja Theory wanted to use Senua to use the medium to tell a compelling story, but beyond trying to be a very cool tech demo they don't know what story they want to tell, how to show it, and why they do it.
