This is undoubtedly one of the most criminally underrated video games ever. There is so much I can say about this game. The story is great. The voice acting is absolutely phenomenal. The gameplay is fun. Nostalgia I have for this game be damned it’s still amazing even 15 years later. I enjoyed seeing how the protagonist’s loyalty evolves as he spends time with Barricade, Blackout and Brawl. I loved seeing the comradery that developed between the protagonist and Barricade. Seeing Starscream’s treachery being a legitimate threat rather than a joke as often in different Transformers media was a real treat. I highly HIGHLY recommend this game to any Transformers fan out there. Frankly I recommend this game to anyone who wants to play a really good DS game. You will not be disappointed. I implore anyone reading this to play this game and it’s counterpart. Easy perfect score

To my memory, this is the very first video game I have ever played so it has a lot of value to me. With that aside, this is actually a very great game. While this game follows the movie’s plot, it has been altered to accommodate the inclusion of the protagonist who was not present in the actual movie. It is pretty compelling and the protagonist has an actual arc. He was a show off and wanted to prove his worth to the other Autobots. By the end of the game, he learns to not behave in such a way. This was due to him causing Bumblebee to be captured by Sector 7. The gameplay is identical to the Decepticons version. Same vehicles, same combat and almost the same locations except the Arctic which is exclusive to the Autobots version. The game has phenomenal voice acting unlike any other DS game. Despite the nostalgia I have for this game, I’ve come to realize that this game is slightly lesser to the Decepticons since this game follows the movie more closely rather than the Decepticons which has its own unique story. Even with that in mind, it’s still a great game any Transformers fan should check out even 15 years later.

This game is the pure definition of mid. The DS games are so much better than this version it’s insane how Travellers Tales completely fumbled with it.

This game fucking sucks oh my god. This is by far one of the worst video game experiences I have ever had

For the love of god don’t play this

Unironically my first exposure to Bloodborne

Kojima gave me a Monster Energy addiction

I paid money for a free game with a tad bit of new content

Dahn Tsukigata is in this game. That makes it good by default

I replayed this game and it’s definitely another underrated Transformers game that gets overlooked a lot. This game is a massive improvement over Transformers the Game from 2007 in so many ways.

My biggest problem with Transformers the Game was how incredibly simple combat is. You have your ranged weapons which almost every enemy and every boss blocks so it’s practically useless. You basically punch things to death. Bosses were insanely repetitive because you would have to throw a thing at someone to get them out of a special move they have so you can actually attack them.

How this game fixes that is by making it a 3rd person shooter. Enemies actually move around the field to shoot you and even climb buildings to get an advantage. Bosses operate in the same way and there were duo boss fights in the near end of the game in Egypt.

In order to make melee attacks as viable as ranged attacks, you have 2 advanced moves in the form of a melee attack and ground pound when transforming into robot mode. It is pretty useful and you are rewarded with a bonus which nets you more energon after finishing a level so you’re encouraged to use them.

The game is very fast paced. Every mission in the campaign has a timer and depending how quick you finish it, you get additional energon which you can use to upgrade your abilities like health, weapon cooldown, melee damage etc. Honestly it’s a good speedrunning game in that regard.

You go through the campaign with a fixed character but after it, you can replay the missions with anyone you want. You can also unlock some G1 episodes from achievements which is a neat novelty. Some of the dialogue after doing missions are actually kinda funny.

However my biggest complaint for this game is that it completely guts the free roam. It’s there but there’s literally nothing to do in it and you only unlock it after doing every mission in a zone. Might as well cut it out of the game and it wouldn’t make a difference.

Overall though, it’s a pretty solid Transformers game. It’s a massive improvement over Transformers the Game in almost every way possible it’s honestly funny. This version is on PS3 and Xbox 360 so it’s a little hard to get but if you can, I’d say grab it. You might like it

This game is fun. Wish this was playable without a guide but this was made in the 80s

Solid game but the combat is super wonky. 3/5
