I loved most things about the game; the narrative, the creativity, (most of) the characters, I was hooked until I beat it.
Then the ending kinda lost me. It was cool how to GET to the ending, but the finale of the story left me a little unfulfilled. That's just a personal gripe though, I still think its a worthwhile experience. While some mechanics/story beats go underutilized, it makes me excited to see what this team does next

Fantastic game. Only negatives I have are the story felt generic at times and I didn't latch on to many characters, but when you got a roster this big, it's tough to balance all that out.
Mechanically, I had a blast. I swear, at least 10-15% of my playthrough was messing with team composition and AP/PP skill mechanics. It made me think about trying challenge runs, like turn down all potential party members or go through with only mercenaries. I didn't even delve into messing with stat growth stuff! The maps were fun most of the time, with my least favorites being the quick ones that take like 2 minutes to beat, just because I like doing the bigger maps and having a bigger challenge.
The story doesn't need a sequel, but I hope VanillaWare does more with this style of gameplay because I'd love to see more with it.

I loved my experience playing this game. I'd sink 6-8 hour sessions regularly, wondering where the time has gone. The gameplay introduced in Y7 is further refined and a blast to play. The story, while not as compelling or paced as well as Y7's, is still a great time [and emotionally devastating]. Chapter 8 was the real turning point for me, going from enjoying it to being fully invested. Still have some post game clean-up to do, but I'm looking forward to it for the unshackled gameplay
