Favorite Game from every year of my life
My Top game for each year I've been alive. I'm going by the dates here on Backloggd for simplicities sake.
32 Games
2003 - I remember visiting my cousin for a month one summer and he had this game. We spent all summer just playing through this campaign.
2016 - This is the smoothest shooter I've played. I come back to it at least once a year.
2013 - I still play this once a year and love it every time. I can't wait for DD2!. Perfect combat.
2001 - This was the first game that really made me cry and drew me in with its narrative. I think in some ways this game changed my life. It definitely made me think about life in a deeper way.
2018 - The best puzzle game ever
2019 - I have played though this 3 times with different people and I just can't get enough. MH Rise just didn't feel the same for me.
2021 - Somehow this managed to be better than Nioh 1 in every way.
2005 - Its more battle front, except better. I will say I like the maps from the 1st game more though. This was my main game for 6 years.
2011 - I played this years after it came out, but its still clearly the best TW game, and one of the best strategy games period.
2000 - Also Vikki was my first crush
2023
2007 - This is another narrative that blew my mind and brought me to tears with its ending. Also one of the few horror games that I like.
2009 - my family would sit in front of the Wii for hours switching off and playing this.
1994 - As a kid I would play the first two levels over and over to get extra lives for my Dad. Then he would play the hard levels. I still love this game as an adult.
2006 - I like the more down to earth plot of this FF versus most of the others. This is the FF game I probably go back to the most just to play for fun.
2010 - This is the most underrated shooter of all time. I played this non stop for 6 months. I still think about how cool this was on a weekly basis.
2015 - I have no idea what happens in this game, but I love just chilling with diamond dog and knocking out a town full of dudes by hiding in a box.
2017 - Truly amazing combat
2012 - I bought a ps4 just to play this. Then spent the better part of 3 years playing it almost daily. I was one of the best medics on the ps4.
1996 - I learned to read just so my older brother would let me play this.
2004 - This game showed me the possibility that online games held. Even though I didn't have internet on my ps2 I would imagine how cool it would be to play against real people.
2008 - This is my favorite tactical turn based game. I love the art style.
2002 - Like I said before, I loved playing with my army men and this let me really live out my fantasy of commanding them. I still think this is the best console RTS.
2014 - A fairly weak year overall, but I did love the movement in this game.
1998 - This game made a star wars nerd out of me for years to come
1999 - As a little kid that was obsessed with playing with his plastic army men, this game was like crack.
2022 - This is the only game from 2022 I've played. Its fun the play in co-op.

1995 - My middle school friends and I would sit in computer class and compete for the high score.

1997 - I honestly thought this was the hardest game in the world at the time. I've still never actually gone back and beaten it.
Unrated
1992 - This is the only game I have played from this year , so this game wins by default.

1993 - I remember playing this on my cousins OG Gameboy when he would visit. This game seemed so huge back then.
