a work of genius that comes through despite all adversity and its own admitted shortcomings, Metal Gear Solid V is one of the best games I have ever played no matter how much Konami wishes that weren't the case

this game is a pretty generic third person shooter for the most part with a very generic art style but it has some genuinelly really good ideas buried inside.

the transforming mechanics are criminally underutilized but switching from the slow and lumbering mech form for offense to the quick cars or especially planes for defense was extremely engaging. some arenas felt amazing to run around in due to large scale and it felt very dynamic going from a shootout to jumping off an edge and turning into a plane to run away adn find health or reload.

not a great game, but one with a lot of potential that can sometimes reach a level above itself

killer art direction but pretty dog shit everything else. only game i can think of where you kill enemies by hittin em with the boi

tackles provocative and philosophical game design themes while being very humorous and entertaining, but in tearing down those walls reveals why we put them up in the first place.

the voice acting from that narrator is one of the best performances ive seen in a game though

rhys during one scene burps in the middle of a sentence and explains himself with "Sorry, that was breakfast." that wasnt rhys, that was actually troy baker. they just left it in.

this is the last good telltale game

the biggest downside to this game is the lack of online multiplayer. outside of that, the level of customization and content is fantastic, tons of fun with 3 or more people

its games like this we dont appreciate enough

yeah it definitely is a video game

pains me to think how many undertale fans will watch lets plays of this and not know what punch-out is.

also the queen is the most insufferable character in a video game this whole year

one of the few games i can think of with the ability to hurricanrana people on command. if you can think of more please do not hesitate to reach out and contact me.

the visual and sound design of this game is absolutely killer but unfortunately the gameplay is too much of a slog — intentional or otherwise — to recommend playing alone and you’d have to play with someone as pretentious as you to appreciate its best aspects in co-op. i love what this game is going for but maybe this era of muddy third person shooters wasnt equipped to handle what this game tried to deliver, and nobody has the balls to try something like this ever again. i dont ever want to play kane and lynch 2 again but god damn if im not gonna think about it for a long time

how the fuck were there no circle wipes? is this really even star wars?
