A pretty great entry in the metal slug series. The music is excellent, the new music bangs, and the series absurdity returns and is taken in a new direction. The level design is less coin-grabby than ever, and is pretty fun to dodge through. Good stuff.

While impressive for the hardware, the lack of infinite continues and frequently annoying level design make this a weaker metal slug entry.

It's pretty simple and charming, and that mostly works in the game's favor. The puzzles can occasionally be pretty tricky. Each world has a different gimmick that is utilized pretty well in a variety of ways. The mechanics never really interact, and the puzzles feel fun but nothing too crazy. It's good, but a bit lacking.

Super fun, fast, and varied with a ton of fun level gimmicks. The game's focus on speed is quite fun, although some levels seem to punish you for wanting to go fast. The HURRY UP mechanic is pretty great and tense, even if the timer is very easy to beat. Exploring the levels is fun and never particularly annoying. The visuals are great, music is mostly fine (except the hurry up theme which slaps). A fun and quick platformer I could easily recommend.

Insanely creative game but it's too hard for my pea brain

2008

The atmosphere is pretty great, and some puzzles can be decently fun. The music is pretty good too, and it gets some credit for being one of the first RPG maker games. But as an actual game? It has the blandest, most boring combat possible in an RPG and the frequency of dull enemy encounters really let this game down.

My new favorite Kirby game. The transition to 3d was incredibly smooth. Level design is top notch, music is stellar, controls and copy abilities are very fun, the level theming is some of the best you'll ever see in a platformer, and the game's got a ton of content and a great gameplay loop. Making the main collectibles upgrade a town is a super clever and fun way to make them important. Going for 100% was really fun, even rounding up some collectible figures. The game was maybe lacking one final thing in terms of endgame content to make it feel as whole as past Kirby games, but that's more of a nitpick than anything. My biggest complaint is that stages have missions to complete, and some can be annoying. They're mostly fun, so it isn't a huge issue, but the occasional mission that requires you to do something unintuitive and makes you replay the level for no reason. All in all, excellent Kirby game, easy recommendation for most people.

At this point, it really just feels like "Another metal slug." Nothing particularly standout or memorable, while it's a fine enough game on it's own.

Basically an interior (and exterior) design simulator. And I find that kind of thing very very fun.

Short, but pretty fun. The platforming is pretty varied and enjoyable, and the music's pretty good.

While the controls took some getting used to, I warmed up to it a lot after I cleared the fairly lengthy prolouge. It really got better and better as it went along, with only a few small annoyances. The music is excellent, and it's a visual marvel for the hardware. Don't play it if you suffer from wrist pain, and you should probably take breaks every few levels to not hurt yourself.

One of the most creative and insane games I've ever played. It takes several mechanics based off of computers and builds on them in a satisfying way, somehow creating an adventure-puzzle game out of navigating a pc. It's insane to me that I played a game where installing an antivirus is a game mechanic. How the game stretches depth and satisfying puzzle solving out of it's setup is incredibly impressive to me. Not only that, but the game ended up being much deeper and more heartfelt than I had expected. Combining that with it's incredibly varied and excellent soundtrack and the insane and wonderfully done visuals, you've got something really special here. I do wonder if the game comes across well to those who don't have PC experience. For those who do, it's amazing.

Incredibly cool, and incredibly annoying.

It's pretty average. Most of the platforming mechanics aren't very well utilized and exploration is pretty simplistic and mostly wastes your time. The character animation looks good but the environment design is quite bland and flat. Most of the music is alright, but a few tracks are really good. It's okay, nothing special. Even as an adventure time fan, it didn't do much.
