executionground played Another Crab's Treasure
It really hurts to give this a low rating. The game is beautiful, it has a lot of charm, the ecological message is essential and the characters and plot are funny and could function perfectly as a current take on old platformers like the Spongebob games on PS2.

The cute aquatic setting would be perfect for a platformer or a multi-genre game or a puzzle game or even a collectathon like LEGO games in which you travel through different biomes and sceneries to grab things and enjoy a colorful, simple story.

But no, this chose to be a souls-like. A genre that hasn't spawned anything even remotely valuable in its almost 13 years of existence. When will these studios learn that what made Soulsborne games special is just the unique ability of FromSoft to create levels with unique designs, aesthetic experiences with exceptional music, art and stories and mechanics that are precisely crafted to enhance the experience?

Few things have hurt the industry more than the need to jump on the wagon of the Souls games. Now we're left with countless soulless uninventive copies of a game that I don't think had in it the intention to be so replicated and cloned.

And such is the tragedy of this poor crab that looks adorable. I hope it knows I would have been extremely happy to enjoy its game if it were a platformer or any other thing.
