A great game held back by some obnoxious ass lows. Good cast, dungeons are fun to go through, select moments strikes it down a bunch.

Overall I feel like there's a lot of bad faith reads that occur with this online depending on the circles you hang with, but the game hits me a few times fairly well so it must be good,(at least to me) right?

This is the biggest I get it moment i've had all year, I knew a lot that was coming but even with that it still threw so much at me i somehow didn't see coming. while as a whole it has some very significant flaws there are small moments that will definitely stick with me for a long time.

It's been a long time since I felt myself thinking about what was going to happen next in anything especially a game, gameplay isn't my cup of tea but getting into it was satisfying and beating a boss felt great. the art and story is probably the best i've seen from this era specifically. even a remake wouldn't come close to replicating the distinct look and feel this has, i think everyone should at least give it a try at some point even if its just for a brief moment.

Every good thing about RPGs is contained in this, engaging from the beginning to end with hundreds of hours of things to do, battles are on the slow side though,.

This system is generally really fun to play with, I also think the cast and movesets are all super solid.

BTW, if like, Laguna were real I'd want him to adopt me.

This game satisfied my expectations for it super well, its made for Game of Thrones fans who also happen to like shonen and kaiju fights.

As much as I love it, I'm still hoping that the tone is just a one off for the series. Make this one a bit more unique among the other games.

Retrospect:
I do have a lot of issues with this game with my mind a bit clear now, the party is solid but also lacks a notable presence despite the skeleton being there, this is really Clive's journey but as a result of that focus the world despite having a great aesthetic feels small. I never expected this to be politically deep and knew the political intrigue was going to be like fancy window dressing, but there are a lot of setpieces that would've been enhanced if I could explore them more. Clive is a great character, but his focus comes at the expense of everything else I feel and it really didn't have to be that way.

Now, despite it feeling small despite being a Current Generation Final Fantasy there are times where it hits peaks that goes way beyond its initial score, some of the best things in gaming.

It's still better than FFXIII though! (you actually get a substantial break from battles)

Decent story, limited party along with the butchered crystarium and the boring individual levels leave me pretty whelmed. Banger OST though.

Great game, great Star Wars movie even.

2017

this game sucks so much balls.
