A major improvement from the original Land, this game actually takes a step towards being a full 2D Mario game. It's still not all the way there, with some Game Boy clunkiness and a very short playtime, but unlike the original this game has aged well enough that I could still recommend it to a modern Mario fan.

A fun little game, Mario stripped down to its barest essentials. Probably has more in common with the original Mario game than any of its sequels, though like 2 is takes some creative liberties with the Mario franchise that gives it a much different energy. I don't think it's an essential entry, but it's fine for what it is, a very early Game Boy game when the polish just wasn't quite there yet.

A great remake of three great platformers. None of the original trilogy are all timer 3D Platformers, but each is a solid entry into the canon. Worth playing if you're a fan of the genre, especially in this package.

Better than 3 by virtue of better gameplay, but not by much. This is probably one of the more forgettable Yakuza games. It doesn't really have anything that makes it stand out from the pack, with a weak story and weak side content. What makes it interesting is the new playable characters, but even that is done better in later games. An inessential entry.
