if after 7 hours it doesn't really hit I should stop trying to get into this series, right? idk, maybe. I think I gave them a chance, I've played multiple of these for a few hours, I don't think I'm being unfair. Because I don't want to be unfair.

I think the gameplay loop these games offer is fundamentally not for me, every time I hunt a big monster I think "that was really really tiring, please not again", and I also don't know what I'm doing half of the time. I'm considering the possibility that I'm simply too stupid for these games, and it's probably that.

one of those "not bad, not great" shmups of the 16-bit era. The SNES and Mega Drive are filled with these (they're also filled with amazing shmups to be fair)

The best Shoot em up of the console. It's true that the Mega Drive/Genesis had a bigger selection but this is just as good as some of the best ones on that console.

Legitimately one of my favorites of the genre.

I played it when it came out but I only got the normal ending back then, I liked it a lot but for some reason I never attempted to get anything more (even though the game literally tells you that there's more and even how to get it).

Now I have actually completed it finally and it's probably one of my favorite games. There's no analysis here, I'll just say that I just finished it and I'm crying as I write this.

It's a pretty decent beat em up honestly. Especially fun on co-op.

All around really good game. The combat system is fun and the story is emotional, it knows how to reach your feelings, at least it worked very well with me.

For years I heard a lot people say that "this is the point where the series gets too pretentious and serious for its own good" and I have to say, now that I played it, those people are cowards and boring.

Some abilities like dodge roll being tied to Forms sucks major ass though, whoever thought that was a good idea is dumb.

At this point Minecraft is a classic, and deservedly so.

GTA but with good controls and a personality.

Akitoshi Kawazu is an insane person, please play it.

I like the intent but I hate playing it

I feel like instead of improving Mario 64 they tried to do something a little different and I think in the end, it kinda sucks. The structure is much less open and the levels less interesting. I'll say Mario feels very good to control on a fundamental level though.

And I'm not a fan of the tropical setting and every level is "connected" thematically so they all share that kind of setting in one way or another so lol. Not for me so I couldn't finish it.

This is one of the most refreshing JRPGs I've played in a long time. Very combat focused with an extremely different and interesting combat system, a lot of exploration and depending on where you go first or what you do the stories will go one way or another, don't expect to see eveything in one playthrough.

Kawazu's games are always idiosyncratic and different to basically any other JRPG out there and this is not different.

Excellent shmup, probably one of the best for the console and I think I like it more than the much more beloved Thunder Force IV.

Probably the best racing game I've ever played, even if I'm garbage at it.
