i’ve had a hard time staying interested in this game :-( i personally feel like it’s missing the charm that most pokémon games have, you can tell they were trying for a more “cool” feel with a lot of the new mechanics, which fits the time it was made but lacks a lot of the usual warmth of a pokémon game. i’m also usually a catch ‘em all type of player, but the pokédex is rly uninteresting and makes catching pokémon feel like a chore. in the very beginning of the game it seemed harder than normal to level up enough to stand a chance even against wild pokémon, so I had to do a lot of grinding in the forest with my starter and my element monkeys. I also found it hard to get any good pokémon for my team, other than the 3 pokémon they literally give you, until towards the end of the game. probably my least fav title (“:
SO well done, i love the serene aesthetic of the game and just how well they were able to translate a pokémon game into something that’s still a pokémon game, but ancient and beautiful and zelda-y feeling. all the new mechanics were executed so well, i absolutely loved the noble pokémon battles as well as all the nods to sinnoh c:
