Completely misunderstood, brilliant depiction of Outer Heaven's ugly decline from a revolutionary anti-imperialist movement to a sad collection of losers without purpose. Simultaneously an allegory for the War on Terror and American decline, as well as the lurid spectacle that Metal Gear Solid and AAA gaming at large has become. Also one of the most visually impressive games to date.

MGS4 is baffling and its endlessly confusing as to what's satire or just bad, pandering writing but you get to pilot a Metal Gear in it so it's actually kino and the best game.
