Not my typical cup of tea but an interesting story, unique relaxing gameplay, and hard but solvable puzzles kept me interested enough to finish this short and casual game.

While I enjoyed the story quite a bit, I found myself struggling to get through Alan Wake. The gameplay is very outdated and in my opinion mediocre. Excellent writing and world building finds itself trapped in the dark by repetitive enemies and frustrating design decisions, really hoping Alan Wake 2 shines a light over this game.

While very charming and sometimes humorous, you can definitely tell that this as an old game with a new and admittedly gorgeous coat of paint. The game is overall very easy but just like many other late 90s early 00s JPGs you'll find yourself grinding a bunch at the end due to poor level curves.

While I think long time tactics fan will enjoy this one, it’s definitely a great starter game for the genre. With a pretty unique take on the story of being the best "you" possible and working with your team to defeat evil. You’ll find that during your journey through a season of winter stuck at school you’ll come across Demons, Psychics, the Football Team, and heck a robot horse. Well worth the cost for at least 10 hours of good writing and simple but fun turn based tactics gameplay.

The campaign of the second entry to the rebooted Modern Warfare games can be summed up in one word, exhilarating. Each level is a re-imagining of the best moments you remember with much more interesting versions of the characters you love. The combat, graphics, and variety of options to keep the missions feeling different from the last and other shooters in general are all top-notch. If you haven't played a Call of Duty game's campaign in a long time, this may be what you've been missing. I won't speak on the multiplayer as that isn't my forte but what I do know is that if it was up to me, the campaign would be separated, so every dollar could go toward making the story mode longer because that's the only thing missing here.

Dave the diver has been the surprise hit of the year. Flying under the radar thanks to being deep in the ocean, Dave the Diver takes you on an adventure where you will spend your time collecting, breeding, and cooking fish of all shapes, colors, and sizes. With a variety of boss battles, intriguing story lines, fun mini-games, and challenging records to break both personal and game driven, you will always find yourself with something to do. This is all on top of an ensemble of characters so well done both in art and writing that you will find yourself choosing favorites, getting attached, and rooting for the squad as challenges are overcome. Everything mentioned so far is only the tip of the iceberg that is Dave the Diver. Go into the game open-minded, take your time to play, and have a great time as you can feel safe knowing that in the year of 2023 with games like Starfield, Zelda TotK, Alan Wake 2, and Armored Core, you will be playing something that has every right of also being called one of the year's best games. I highly recommend it to everyone, no matter your favorite genre. Plus it plays amazingly on steam deck and can be played through at your leisure much easier than most games these days.
