3D Platforming Summer might end here. I deeply dislike this game. All my quibbles with Tooie feel small compared to all the things I don't like about this game. Needlessly busy, dull level layouts that only serve a purpose to give five characters something to do, terrible minigames, and a general sluggishness when it comes to cutscenes and dialogue moments. The only thing it does better is the first person aiming? Maybe?

Just too many ideas and most of them are severely underdeveloped. It has a fun rap at the beginning. Big deal. It's a videogame bread bowl of bad soup.

This one was always a let down to me. It's way bigger and I near doubled my playtime compared to my BK run but I think all that extra time was doing stuff I hated doing. Timed Challenges that give you little wiggle room, worlds with so many entrances/exits that navigation is tedious, and just a lot of things that felt less like puzzles and more lie contrivances. The main thing I hated was the shooting gallery stuff wheer the reticle snaps to the center. That's a design from goldeneye and it sucked there and sucks here. It's unfortunately used too much for my liking. There is still a lot to like (love the clockwork eggs and the doom-style shooter levels) but I honestly think the first game managed to do more with a smaller but denser design.

I've decided that this is gonna be the summer of 3D platformers. This is a very fun one though I feel kind of spoiled by the speed and fluidity of Mario 64 that this always feels a little slow going back to. Still I really think the amount of polish in this game has is undeniable.
