The humor of the game is something inbetween juvinile and adult humor. It can be charming or cringe at times. The story is fine enough and the gameplay is like a classic fun beat em up. The main thing about this game is that it doesn't just stay a beat em up game. For some reason there's sections that randomly change into different game styles, mostly for the worse. It'll swtich from a bullet hell to a racing game to other mini games. It really halts the pace of the game because these sections go on for way too long. I played this co-op with a friend and we both were so tired of the really slow sections and forced ourselves to play the rest of the game. Overall, you'd get the same experience just watching the cutscenes instead of actually playing the game.

This game has nice nostalgic visuals and a nice simple gameplay mechanic. There's also time trials and collectables for people who want to 100% the game. The downsize to this game is that sometimes theres just unfair angles that will kill you and someitmes you have to hope and pray that you get past a level. It took me so much endurance and grit to get to the end of the game. But, I felt like it was way too frustraiting to fight the game and controls to be worth it for others. Maybe if this game could get polished and rereleased with better controls, it could be better.

Maybe I just missed something, but I didn't feel connected to many of the characters at all. Especially the main character, Mae. The writing is well enough, but that's the only thing going for this game and I didn't feel like it was strong enough. I was bored through the majority of the game and the last half of the game seemed to slowly slink along. Love the art style and sometimes I chuckled and some scenes were more emotional than others. But, overall the game was unfortunately lackluster for me.

Yes it's a licensed kids game, but this game seemed like it had potential to be better than it turned out. There really isn't much room for exploration and you're mostly on a set linear path, even though the game seems to be open world. The powers and upgrades seem nice, but are mostly pointless. Ultimately the game isn't anything spectacular.

Finally a main series side scrolling Mario game that actually does something different. There are new gimmicks with certain levels and it keeps alot of the game fresh. Like transforming into different beings or the level turns upside down or you can surf on top of wild animals and more. There are also different abilities that you can equip that make certain levels tougher or easier to get through. Or you can choose to not equip anything and make the game more challenging. This game is also up to 4 players. The main Mario characters and the toads are normal playable characters. You can also play as Yoshis or Nabbit for people who aren't used to platformers, you won't die but you won't be abe to equip any ability badges. I think that's a fair tradeoff.

The gameplay is still the same as any side scrolling Mario game, they just made what you expereince in each level new and fun. There's also alot of little references to Mario 3 and Super Mario World if you look and listen for it.

You can beat this game in a short period of time from start to finish. But, there are alot of collectables to 100% the game. One thing that kindof holds the game back is that it isn't challenging enough for seasoned players. Since the Wii era, Nintendo has mostly focused on making their Mario games for families in mind. Not a bad choice, but also they haven't been throwing out much of anything for gamers who love a challenge either.

This game has a nice backstory. The devlopers advocate for animal welfare and part of the profits from this game went into that. But, the game itself was rough. The animations of the cats were fine and I like how the other cat characters are based on famous internet cats. But, unfortunately the controls aren't that great and you slide around alot. The levels are short but feel like they take forever to get through because of how tedious they are, the boss fights are very boring, and the music is very repetative. I can't really reccomend this game at all unfortunately.

There's so much to say with this game. The pros are the developers did alot of correct Spongebob references to certain episodes from newer and older seasons, the cutscene animations are very expressive, and the music is pretty catchy.

The gameplay itself is very simple platforming and good for people who don't play platformers or good for children and families to play. You learn a new ability by going through each level and it makes platforming very interesting. The downside to this is the game never fully uses these abilities to its full potential. The enemies have cool designs, but the majority of them you can just do basic attacks to defeat them. The main collectables in the game are jelly and doubloons. There are set amount of doubloons in each level, but jelly will respawn an unlimited amount if you die or restart the level. Doubloons just unlock more costumes in the costume shop and you buy them with jellies. There's also other mini side quests where you collect various things for certain characters. Nice if you want to 100% the game. The downside to all of this is if you aren't going to 100% the game, then you have no incentive to collect anything and can run past the majority of the enemies. The boss fights aren't even really fights. You mostly wreck parts of the level to "fight" them. It takes you out of the game and makes it feel like an extention of the level, not like a boss fight at all.

I was playing this on PS4, so I don't know if anyone else has these issues. First of all the audio for cutscenes never match the cutscene. It's either off by 8 seconds or characters will repeat the same sentence over and over or the audio just cuts out entirely. This is also the same within levels. The music within levels will just cut out for the entire level most of the time. Plus, the death animations almost never play out. I've fallen through the bottom of the map multiple times, enemies sometimes never attack, and collectables sometimes never can be collected. Also, the game would freeze for me multiple times during cutscenes and gameplay.

Boss Fight Gripe: (this is where the spoiler is, incase you care about spoilers for a Spongebob game lol): The last boss fight is kindof unfair. You fight Squidward but hes transformed into a giant squid and his tenticles will hurt you or make projectiles that hurt you. These are easy to dodge. But then the main villian of the game is shooting harmful jelly at you, you have to dodge enemies and suction them up with the reef blower so you can attack the villian. Sounds ok enough, but you get stunned by the enemies for about 4 seconds and the knockback from getting hit by everything else will literally trap you in an endless loop of pain and you will die instantly. I got lucky on my 4th try, but still almost died and it felt like the game was completely unfair.

I know this is a licensed game, but there are great licensed games out there. This is an average game and the story is nice. I'm a very long time Spongebob fan and have watched this show since day 1 and even that can't save this game from ultimately being mediocre.

I want to say that this is probably the best modern kirby game I've played. The abilities you can upgrade which is an interesting thing. Plus, you can suction in appliances and vehicles to use during certain levels. Theres also alot of extra side things to do in this game, esepcially for people who love to 100% games. The first half was very engaging and the pace was great. But the last half of the game was sluggish in comparison. Overall I liked the game, but I felt like it was endurance test to get thru to the end.

Omg, why did I even play this. I hoestly feel like this game would've been more playable if the screen was more zoomed out and Bubsy wasn't right in the middle of the screen. Plus, the momentum is so weird in this game. You buid it up but once you try to stop he has to slow down as if he's actually a vehicle slowing down. Anyway, this game was difficult mainly because of what I just mentioned. It was such a headache to play through this. Idk why I even did it lol.

I loved the vaporwave/synthwave aesthetic of this game. It epsecially shows well through the music. This game also has nice unlockables like shirts, hats, skateboard decks and more that you unlock thru collecting the in game nacho currency lol. Anyway, the level design was really interesting and everytime you die the level rearrages itself so its always a new experience. There are also challenges within levels. Unfortunately, the game does tend to drag on a bit and I was bored after a while. If you're just playing the game from start to finih you'll get about 2 or 3 hours of gameplay. Which seems short, but the way the game kindof dragged for me made it feel like forever. This is a fun game to play in short bursts. But, long sessions left me very bored after a while.

This a really fun game for younger children or inexperienced gamers. But, as a seasoned gamer I was pretty bored at some points with the story and the levels themselves. The level designs can be either really creative or very dull. It's a real tribute to animal mascot games made by a developer that existed during that era with this same character. Unfortunately, I had alot of game breaking glitches with the Steam version to the point where I had to restart and play some levels over again. This game was fun and the developers really did put their all into it. But, it seems like the worlds are pretty empty and are missing something that makes a game have that "it" feeling.

Despite having the same name as a Garfield comic compilation and a tv special based it, this game has nothing to do with either one of those.

Most likely the best Garfield game that exists. It doesn't really have a story and the Garfield sprite is one of the better ones that I've seen. The music is very catchy and really well done. Each level has you collect a certain item or items to move on to the next level. Garfield himself just has a jump, kick, dash, and elbow smash (instead of a ground pound). The platforming is very solid and will have you break walls, break the ground, climb, and crawl under things.

The game is very short and sweet. I only played it for about an hour. It's pretty fun for the short time you play it. If you're a big Garfield fan, then you should play this. But, this is also just a very competently made licensed game in general.

This game would be Garfield's Nightmare because of how slow, boring, and tedious it is. Even though the levels take place in different environments, there isn't much of a change in the platforming. You do the same thing the entire game. Also the boss fights are not challenging at all. The music is very repetitive and generic. So, with repetative music, repetative platforming, and the fact that Garfield just moves slow as ass, this game is just a slog to get through. It really tests your mental stamina to not quit. Somehow I got thru it, but at the cost of my sanity.

The story isn't a big bombastic story. But, it is tightly and neatly packaged and unfolds as you play the game. The game leads you to theorize about a lot of things as you discover the answers. That's pretty nice to see instead of a game just dumping all the information on you at once.

The characters are pretty charming too, even the side characters and NPCs you meet along the way have enough of personality for you to remember. The robot companion is the link between us and the rest of the game. Without giving any spoilers, there is a part in the game where the robot gets captured and you can't understand any of the other characters anymore because the robot has been translating what they've said to you this whole time. The cat doesn't talk but somehow still understands and connects to the robot and other characters in a very natural way. You see the relationship between the robot and the cat grow as the game progresses and you really want them to succeed.

The gameplay is really simple you run, jump, and the robot also gets some abilities too. Some parts of the game are very fast paced and the controls being so simple is very helpful.

I love the look and aesthetic of the game. They use some really cleaver level design. If you get lost, there are subtle lighted pathways, disguised as billboards or streetlights, that point you in the right direction. But, it doesn't look obvious and doesn't break your immersion. There are also collectibles for those who like to 100% games.

This is a casual game, it's not too difficult and is easy for almost anyone to play. Even though I only played for 8 hours, because of how immersed I was, it felt way longer. This is a game that I'd be willing to replay and will remember having a really fun time playing.

I never played the original game, so keep that in mind. The soundtrack to this game is what caught me off guard. It's a very amazing soundtrack that really gets you in the mood and makes this feel like an eventful game.

There isn't much of a story to disect and the game tells you everything in the first cutscene in the first 3 minutes of the game. This game isn't really about the story.

The game gives you options on what gameplay style to choose from, modern or classic. Modern mode makes it so you move the dragon with one joystick and move the crosshairs with another joystick. The classic mode makes it so the dragon and the crosshairs are on the same joystick. The classic mode was easier to play in with a game like this. The other thing that was unusual for a rail sooter, in my opinion, was the fact that you have to watch a mini radar map in the corner for enemies. Then you actually have to physically move the camera to that side and have to be aware of the enemies at all times. That's very refreshing gameplay and kept me on my toes the entire time.

This game has high replay value for those who want to play on normal or hard mode and also for achievement hunters.

First, the game is short. I know this game has an "arcade mindset" where they think people will play over and over again in short bursts. But, me not knowing about the original thought it was going to be a few hours of gameplay, not 1. To be honest, it's a shame that this game is so short, because I had so much fun playing it.

Speaking of the "arcade mindset" this game has "lives" that they call "credits" and if you die in a level, then you have to do the whole level over again, like the old arcade cabinets. I would hate this if the game was longer, but this works well with how short the game is.

The only gripe I have with the game is in the PC version of this game, I was not able to get to the secret Level 0. I put in the code from the console versions and just assume the PC version doesn't have it. What it does have is a code to go to a secret menu to pick any level you want, god mode, concept art, and other settings.

Overall, I'd say this is a very entertaining game and the best rail shooting game I've ever played.
