There were WAY better ways to have told this story. A literal novel would've been preferable and less sleep inducing.
But yeah, it is "Nier 3". I just wish it was more "Nier" and less "waiting simulator". Even when not loading, it felt like just waiting. A slow burn that felt like freezing.

I've been delaying finishing this game for more than 20 years. Started it a couple times, never got past the middle. Toriyama's death, however, kickstarted a new playthrough, and I meant for it to finally be the one where I actually finished the game.

I'm very happy that I did.

I love fishing in games, and I am VERY frightened by gigantic underwater things, so this was a targeted horror game for me.
Though big fish and lovecraftian aberrations don't do as much, there are SO MANY SUNKEN SHIPS, JESUS CHRIST

Loved it, loved the visuals, the music, the weird abhorrent fishes, and even the ending(s!). Highly recommended.
