battle garegga/rider/bakraid, pink sweets, summer carnival 92: recca, alien soldier (aside from hellsinker is what i was reminded most of when playing ring racers, honestly), challenge promode arena for quake 3, action quake 2, mayyybe dangun feveron, mars matrix, money puzzle exchanger (especially after seeing the evo jp tournament), armored core 4/for answer and armored core 6 all feel like they could fit here in a way.

also maybe gaplus and same! same! same! for the gen-x & boomer crowd, those are a bit more straightforward and not particularly convoluted, but definitely a taste of what was to come for arcade games

@iamverypoor omg i am sorry i feel like iwas being slighted for no reason. there's no multiplayer fps quite like it. the folks who call people who do like the most basic advanced movement in modern military fps/etc "sweatlord tryhards" would have their brains melted within 3 minutes of an aerowalk duel. even tho its been basically dead for the past 15+ years. the combination of every quake engine trickjumping exploit into one game gave it a skill stratosphere
