Game #56

Finally completed a lifelong goal of 100% my favorite childhood game. A perfect licensed title. Completely matches the feel of the series and features lots of content inspired by the history of the series. And to top it off, it's a really fun videogame. The Metroidvania style is pretty unique for licensed games of this era and the only of its kind in the Scooby-Doo series.

Game #55

Love the aesthetic and found the game really cute. But there are some significant control issues that I hope are ironed out in the sequels.

Game #54

Went in search of hidden items. Did not find a submarine.

Game #53

Played as far as I could manage via emulation, which was more troublesome than it was worth. This was maybe my favorite game on the Wii as a kid, I played it so much.

Monkey is going for the final kill

Quite possibly the best couch multiplayer game ever made.

My dad said all he wanted for father's day was to eat pizza and play videogames. So I downloaded some of our fav games from when I was a kid to the steam deck as a special surprise. This was probably my first time playing double dash in 15 years, and it's so good. We specifically spent an hour just running bob-omb blast on the pipe map like old times. What a game.

Game #52

Fun game, gave it a lot of time, but it's perhaps limited by its ambition. The building system is so impressive as is the recall, but I think it actually ends up narrowing the scope of puzzles. I still had a great time with the game, but eventually got tired of gluing two things together and then reversing time for the eightieth time in a row.

Game #51

This game is alright. There are some gameplay decisions I find pretty frustrating and can't stand Midna's dialogue. But the dungeon design is really strong and the actual moment-to-moment gameplay succeeds where it counts.

Game #50

I don't really have any patience for the story of it all, but I weirdly find the gameplay very fun. Even though it's mostly just walking around and keeping balance, there's something rewarding about completing a job and the wide-open stealth angle is an interesting concept. I really really hate that crying baby though.

Game #49

Not really a reason to play this in 2023, but still a neat little artifact.

Game #48

I was very into the aesthetic of this at first, but as I kept playing I started having less and less fun. There is so much backtracking through environments that look the same and trial and error on figuring out what you're supposed to do. Still a cool concept and vision but a little then in the end.

Game #47

Photography games are an under-explored genre, but I wasn't crazy about this one. I understand the environmental storytelling they were going for, but I didn't think there was a single attractive picture I could take, which seems like it would be the default request.

Game #46

Not very special, at all, but it scratches the itch.

Game #45

Bad. Very limited movement and surprisingly few enemies. You'll sometimes crash into some elements of the background but there is no visual indicator of what you can and can't fly over.
