What a strange entry in the series. The first half of this game is fantastic, focusing on the best parts of the franchise, the dungeons, but the 2nd half is such a drop off in quality. Eileen is awful as an AI and there are so many times where she just got kinda stuck or would let enemies hit her for no reason. Revising a lot of the same locations was also a tiny bit tiring and it overstayed it's welcome by a lot by the end. Didn't hate this though, this was still a great survival horror game overall, I just wish it could keep the momentum it had the whole way through.

severely overhated. one of the freakiest games ive played

I feel a little bad giving this game a "bad" score, but I legit felt fairly miserable playing it. That satisfying Hitman gameplay loop of killing your targets in creative ways is kind of here - one of the earlier levels, I blew up the target's car with a bomb planted underneath it, in the sewers, which was incredible.

But none of it matters when the game is so damn brutal. Disguises are simply not that good in this game: if enemies look for too long at you, they see through your disguise, somehow. But even worse, if you dare to sprint, they will almost immediately trigger an alarm - no no, you're supposed to walk everywhere, and Agent 47 has possibly the slowest walking speed of any video game character I've ever seen. It all severely discourages experimenting and exploring the levels, which is the whole point of this series.

If you have far more patience than I do, I suppose you could get some enjoyment out of it. It is a highly regarded game, somehow. To me, it just feels like a prototype.

By 'beat' I mean I won a run (I've since won several with other decks) but I'm not done with it. I'm not sure one can ever truly be done with Balatro since it's like digital crack; I think it digs into your brain and it stays there the way all the great, addictive roguelikes do.

these mother fuckers cheat, i hate this shit

id like this if the music selection didnt cater towards 10 year olds

So, this game, it was given away for free on Steam, and I thought, "Hey, why not give it a shot?" Well, let me tell you, I was not impressed.

I mean, seriously, I tried to get into it, but man, it was booooooooring. Like, snooze-fest central. I even played it while on a call with a buddy, and neither of us could muster up any enthusiasm for it.

The gameplay felt clunky, the story didn't grab me, and don't even get me started on the graphics – talk about outdated. It was like trying to drive a beat-up old car when you're used to cruising in a shiny new sports car. Just not the same, you know?

I know some folks out there swear by this game, but honestly, I just don't see the appeal. Maybe it's a case of it not aging well, or maybe it's just not my cup of tea. Either way, I'm not gonna lose any sleep over not finishing it.

This game deserves more playtime and actually play it right. Also, don't recommend telling your family about this game's controversies and bans in countries. Then playing it in the family living room where anyone could see. Be better than me, please.

My god this game is boring, and it's really frustrating towards the end. Feels like worse GTA with terrible car controls.

There is an alternate universe where Rockstar Table Tennis is the biggest entertainment property in history and GTA was a weird anomaly

Great follow up to FEAR! I really liked how much better gun play felt! The AI isn’t as good here…

they need to stop putting this boring ass game in the yakuza series

Hard to describe game... it's a masterpiece. And flawed to the bone. The atmosphere fills me with existential dread, despite the old engine, the game drew me in it's depressive world like nothing else.

It feels like the kind of thing that couldn't be made by a AAA studio. It's a genuine personal artpiece coming from the depths of a few developer's minds. It feels genuine like nothing else in it's dread and terror.

Gameplay is sometimes a bit weak. Some puzzles poorly communicated. But that's about it. I don't know if it deserves all the stars, or just 4 or 3.5. It deserves all of them at the same time. It's one of a kind.
