2011

this was like reading a 10 year old's scary story. i normally like horror rpgs from the same era and i could not get through this

SO FUN!!! most of the game is very silly but the more "horror"-ish parts are done really well. the animation style is lovely and unique and the puzzles are great, with most of them needing some thinking and needing you to do unexpected things to solve them. the story doesn't go extremely deep but i enjoyed it a lot.

while the design and concept were really good and i liked how the horror was slowly built up, i thought that the endings fell flat somewhat. i might just feel this way because it took me a really long time to get to the ending at all because the last few days of the restaurant minigame were really difficult (at least for me) and i had to keep replaying them. i do think this is a good game but it could be improved so that you spend less time on frustrating minigames and more on interesting horror scenes (because the horror scenes WERE really good when they did happen!).

weird as hell (i liked it very much)

a really sweet game. the art is amazing and holy crap, all the character designs... i really liked the story too

the bad reviews on this game are SO UNFAIR!!! she's SUPPOSED to be insufferable!!!!!!

this game made me realise just how autistic i truly was

expected to be terrified and ended up relating

this game uses voice acting so well. really intriguing

a beautifully complex game. really took visual novels to another level

2008

as someone who played undertale for the first time in 2023, this game is actually so good.
the humour is really funny and mostly holds up despite the game being 8 years old, the boss battles are epic, the soundtrack is amazing, the different routes have a lot of variety, the pixel animations are great and the game has a strong message.
my only critique is how difficult the boss battles are if you have bad reflexes and can't move fast enough, and the fact that this is necessary the see the game's story. i would have liked an "easy mode" option or the ability to skip battles if you've failed them enough times.
also alphys is just like me for real

gave up on playing it but as someone who doesn't usually like dating sims it was genuinely really enjoyable and nicely written, i liked how it added depth to the characters from the original game (and the new characters introduced were interesting!)

beautiful, it honestly felt like an interactive work of art
