what if super metroid was a theme park ride?

for a first playthrough, standard difficulty felt too easy, but proud mode felt too hard, and in the wrong ways - the ease with which you can get oneshot is just not fun, and makes it difficult to even understand what you did wrong, particularly when it's from something offscreen. i could see proud mode as a rewarding experience once you've learned the game and know what to expect, but man, i'm not putting up with the disney bullshit a second time lol.
