@ludzu In Spirit of Justice, Phoenix Wright goes on vacation to a foreign country where defence attorneys are considered worthless and meets his protege’s real father - the game revolves around two concepts that make up Phoenix as a character. It ends with him leaving Mia and Apollo behind there and heading back to Japan/USA alone (depending on localisation lol)

hmmmm idk about spirit of justice bc it is not literally "face to face with himself" enough for me (loosened the definition a little with sh2 bc it has confronting pyramid head). and im almost there with max payne 3 but seems to be the same problem as spirit of justice, from what i can tell?

persona isnt on here bc the main characters are boys, not men. strikers has a man in the party but im gonna take an out by saying this is a list for games that are front and center what im describing, not just for side characters. no idea how nitw would even apply
