Resistance 3 is godly and a serious improvement over the previous 2 games. Gunfights are fast, frenetic, and incredibly satisfying. The Weapon wheel returns from 1 and now you can carry a whole damn arsenal in your pocket. Insomniac adopted the gun leveling system from Ratchet & Clank and made every weapon feel great to use along with its secondary fire. The difficulty is more balanced with many tools to deal with the chimeran opposition. Man, I can't even describe how much I loved this game. Seriously, this is one of the best FPS ever.

Excellent, brutal, tough as nails! I am experienced with this genre and action games in general but, Resistance 2 amps it up from Fall of man in terms of encounters and sheer force. You'll be thrusted into gun fights with the toughest of chimera. There is plenty of satisfaction with the gunplay to be had and checkpoints are much, much more prevalent. Trust me, you'll be glad for this addition.

The Auger is the gun you want the most and the worst gun when in the hands of enemies. My advice is to try your dam nest to kill those guys first before anyone else. I played on the normal difficulty (two stars), and it was a moderately challenging experience so if you were to lower the difficulty, I don't blame you one bit.

I must agree with the other reviewer and their comment about doing something with Nathan's chimera infection as a source of powers. That would have been cool and something to truly expand upon. I think that’s what’s really keeping me from giving this a 5 due to this seriously missed oppurtunity. There is a segment that gives wishful vibes for the whole game but yeah. Still, I quite enjoyed this one.

A solid, although a bit dated of an FPS. Early PS3/Xbox 360 had a certain charm but weren’t flawless. Regardless though, I really like the setting of the game along with the cool weapons you get to use that mostly come from the Chimera. AI is like Killzone levels of on your case. They won’t let up. Can't just bum rush encounters or it’s a quick death. Gonna play 2 and see how that fares.

Liberty City Stories is a solid game in franchise and what one could say is an improvement of 3. Don't expect innovation or grand changes in the formula. It's the same old GTA but a prequel in this case. I enjoyed the character interactions and thought they were funny as hell so to be expected.

It's truly astronomical how much bigger San Andreas is to vice city. How do you improve what is already fixed? I remember when this came out it shocked everyone on how godly this iteration of the series is. There is so much explore and do. Incredibly difficult for Rockstar to top this game. I've completed, 3, vice city and this one on Xbox. At 480p and slight increases to performance, they are its best. Honestly, I wouldn't even touch the remastered versions.

Just fantastic. Improves on GTA 3 by quite a margin with a good story (that highly riffs off Scarface), awesome music, great voice acting. I mean it's got it all. Some of the best missions in the series come from this game.

A classic game that I played as kid but never actually beat until now that I picked up the Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy for Xbox. Its flawed but man do later games get exponentially better.

If war propaganda was hilarious

A decent TPS with a unique gimmick of shifting the terrain in the battlefield. You can use this ability to make cover for yourself and solve environmental puzzles. The gunplay ever so slightly riffs off Gears of War although unlike that game you are going to be moving and jumping a lot. As a matter of fact, this game takes a bit from Halo too with the shield regeneration and vehicle sections. It was hard for me to not notice frankly.

Enemies have serious aim so you can't just bum rush encounters or you'll die a quick death. There are some boss fights but nothing too special. I feel like I've said this before, but I seriously miss this era of shooters. They didn't have to be narrative masterpieces, just good ol gunning action, it just so happens that Fracture provides a more unique take on it.

Fist of The North Star: Ken's Rage 2 is simply a way better version of the first game.

Gameplay has sped up and improved significantly across the board. One of the issues of the previous was how slow the animations were. When you did special moves, it did a freeze frame every time and would break up the flow of gameplay. That has been rectified.

KR 2 now covers the entire manga instead of just the first half and is done rather well for the budget they were allotted. The main mode, legend mode, is quite lengthy as a result. Took me about 16 hours to get through. It’s important to note too, however, that this is a musou game, so that is to be expected.

leveling up and whatnot is present. You also get the chance to obtain passive skills using scroll nexus. You acquire scrolls by obtaining them in-game and after completing episodes. Then afterwards you can line up scrolls of the same skill to achieve passive buffs for battles. Pretty interesting but also an incentive to grind afterwards if you want to achieve the ultimate nexus.

Apart from this you also dream mode where you can play original stories of the characters you unlock from legend mode.

The soundtrack is amazing, it’s basically the same one from the previous one but I did notice some new tracks in the latter half of the game. Kick ass guitar riffs go perfect with the on-screen carnage after unleashing your Hokuto Shinken madness.

I am a pretty big FOTNS fan, so I quite enjoyed my time with Ken's Rage 2. It can be a difficult game to recommend if you aren't a fan because of the musou aspect but if you don't mind then check it out. It’s quite expensive these days though.

It’s technically bigger and badder than Killzone 2. However, the gritty and heavy feel is gone in exchange for a more traditional style of FPS movement. Guns in the previous had more recoil and deviation and now they are much steadier. I can't say if this is bad thing, but it did have a charm to it. The story picks up right after Killzone 2…and well the ending was short and lead to another cliffhanger.

This is somewhat of a shame because the events that led up to it were awesome. I guess I must play shadowfall to see what happens next. Can’t give this a 5 due to the way the ending was handled. Don’t get it twisted, this is a good game I was just unsatisfied in that regard.

The premise is unique and one of Legendary' s best assets. Fighting mythological creatures unleashed by Pandora's box. The gunplay is fine and does the job. Absorbing animus energy from decapitated creatures is a cool idea and I appreciate how they didn't resort to regenerating health. That said it could’ve been expanded upon. At the end of the game the main character is seen taming a griffin with this power. Wouldn't it be awesome if you could do that in-game?? It’s little things like that. On a technical front, the game isn't perfect either, there are some slight bugs and choppiness. It’s nothing I haven’t seen before but it’s worth mentioning. Legendary isn't the best but not the worst I've played. But I'd be lying if I said I didn't miss this era of shooters.

Resident Evil 4 in a mall. You get the awesome story of the original with Wii RE 4 gameplay and no time limit. What more could you possibly want.

Urban Reign is fast, furious and holds no punches. Being able to hit 2 enemies at the same time while double kicking the air is sick. This game uses the Tekken engine so comboing off juggles is essential along with grappling your opponents. There are 100 Missions, and the fighting is done in an arena style fashion instead of a belt scrolling affair. Most of the conditions for completing them is to simply defeat all opponents but sometimes they do vary such as dealing damage to a certain body part on an enemy. 1/3 of the game in and you'll get partners for certain missions. If your partner is defeated, you can still complete the mission which is neat but what is even neater is being able to take control of them at any point! Pretty cool! You can also give them basic commands such as zeroing in on an enemy you yourself need help with.

The story is decent. You play as some dude who beats the hell out of people for hire (known as ‘Brawlers’ in the game’s lore) trying to sort out the city from chaos. You are aided by a woman who represents a Chinese organization trying to get piece of the pie. The mayor of this city also tries to tackle this issue by installing security cameras all over. It’s a bit of a conspiracy and the last mission is awesome because it’s a play on the genre’s trope, specifically the 2D era of beat em’ ups. Ironic stuff. Sound and music is sooo good. Lots of ass kicking tracks. Plus, the sounds of bones breaking is bliss. No issues there.

You will not get far into Urban Reign if you are a button masher. The AI is insane, and I beat it on the normal difficulty. You are expected to know all your moves because trust me you will use them. There are moments where the AI can get cheap and an example of this is when they chain grab you with unbreakable throws (this applies only to the tank/grappler characters). The parry counter or 'reflect' as they call it is essential to master. If you don't get good at this, you will die a lot. My advice is to learn to chain your bread-and-butter combo into an SPA art finisher for massive damage.

Urban Reign is not for everyone, and most people probably won't have the patience to finish it. Not trying to make this game sound like it’s the most special piece of software, but it’s just diabolically true to itself.

Also, prepare yourself for Golem.

(I played this game with the restoration patch which undoes the nerf it received on the US release in which you only gain 75% of EXP and gold from the original rate. PAL and JP regions have the intended base gain)

Look I am super picky when it comes to RPG's, especially turned based. It hasn't always been my favorite thing and I will admit that first and foremost. Legend Of Legaia is one of those games that just clicked with my brain and its combat system is biggest reason for that. Seriously it’s so bad ass and cool stringing together combos AND discovering inputs as your characters level up. On top of that, all party members can learn any magic regardless of elemental affinity.

It’s worth mentioning that all members are capable of dishing out serious damage. Boss fights are nutty and challenging but satisfying to overcome with the right strategy. 3-character parties I think are the sweet spot for a person like me to manage. I remember playing Final Fantasy 10 and while I thought that game was good, I didn't like having so many party members. Just felt like a chore to manage all that.

The OST is damn good, spawning more original boss and battle music than you'd expect. Old dnb, and breakbeats. Of course, there are still beautiful melancholic themes you’d expect as well. Sound effects, especially during fighting are on point.

The main characters are awesome, and I can see why Noa is a fan favorite. She is truly a funny and goofy kid. But make no mistake all these guys kick ass.

Graphics are good with the chibi style taking place during field and town travel and battles having detailed and bigger models. Sometimes CGI shots would make an appearance.

Look I am not an RPG expert, but I thought Legend of Legaia was amazing and it might just be one of my favorite games of all time.
