only giving it a high score because i really love its story and cast :) wish the game wasn't locked in gacha hell and wasn't boring to play. catching up despite skipping filler missions took a really long time.

probably sucks but nostalgia bias go brrr

nostalgia is at it once again

this game slaps. was really fun to me as a kid

I remember really liking the story and the character interactions but couldn't fucking play it for the love of GOD because those controls. Man those controls.

Once again drawn back by its god awful controls. Still has a really special place in my heart for its music and story though.

probably my biggest guilty pleasure ever lol. i can still recall its theme song. the Memories.

the single player campaign was mindblowing to me as a kid

another obscure game i have childhood memories of

literally made me meet my closest friends ever. love this game

mostly just a lot of nostalgia with ppl that i miss so its getting 4 stars lol. also the songs were cool

xehaqus are literally kissing

It is generally agreed upon that this game’s combat wasn’t good, especially after what Kingdom Hearts II did to innovate the combat, but I will have to admit this was probably the most fun I’ve ever had playing a Kingdom Hearts game. It wasn’t particularly challenging, having to grind at a certain point definitely wasn’t fun, but this game was just so darn charming to me.

The smaller worlds were great, I did not have issues with their lengths or lack of things to do honestly. I do not play Kingdom Hearts for Disney, so I did not care that the worlds weren’t dragged out at all. Collecting the small number of collectibles was also fine.

I especially liked the mechanic of combining commands a lot and it got me very hooked up on trying new commands and levelling them up, just to see what I might get next.

The lack of stagger is definitely not a plus in the combat, but if I’m being honest, I’m not the type of person that cares to master the combat and learn to do cool tricks with, (unless you are Xenoblade Chronicles 2), so I just did whatever xd

I did like being able to play as three different characters with unique playstyles and exclusive commands. Though I will admit, the combat fell very short when it came to boss fights. Not only were the bosses not well designed, but they were also simply not fun. Looking at you, MF. (I will never get over how his name abbreviates to mf)

Speaking of the characters, I like them a lot. Their writing is flawed, the narrative definitely does not do them justice, but I still like them. I liked getting to know a different set of characters. I also like Master Xehanort and Vanitas.

As for the story, it’s definitely not that strong. But I will still always appreciate it for what it did for the worldbuilding of Kingdom Hearts, explaining Keyblades in more detail, giving history to them, introducing us to characters like Eraqus and Xehanort, showing us that Keyblades have been part of a culture, and even including the Keyblade Graveyard, telling us that this society once used Keyblades to wage a terrifying war. (Average Union X enjoyer)

I also really liked seeing the destiny trio, and Lea and Isa as kids. Had it not been for bbs, I doubt I would be as interested in Isa’s past. Give me the forbidden lore

Overall, my enjoyment of the game is not out of a critical standpoint but really, just from a purely subjective one? I just had fun playing it. Cope
