My character had sex with all of the other characters

I had heard that MGS1 lifted a lot from this but I didn’t think it’d be THIS much.

Such a huge leap forward from MG1. Adding things like a radar and crawling make such a difference, but beyond that, the dedication of toying with weird ideas is just so endearing and cute.

Also I figured out the tap code thing all by myself.

There were moments of this where I felt the simplicity and purity and loneliness of the first game were missed, and then I just decided to shut up and play the fuck out of this absolute FEAST.

I had thought they may be missing a mark by making it ‘Pikmin, but BIG’ , but I ended up wanting more. Was desperate enough to keep playing that I platinum’d every single dandori challenge thing and have been excited to brag about it ever since. Look at me!

Only a couple of tiny little complaints:
-the lock on controls were a little annoying at times.
-I wish you could have more than 3 pikmin types out on the field at once. I really wanted to see my little army of every type.
-I wish the rewind feature was tied to a specific difficulty mode. I think I would’ve enjoyed it more if I didn’t use it so much. And my brain couldnt resist instantly clicking on it whenever things every went slightly wrong.

I loved it. Move over Mario.

Good game!

I’m glad I can just say that plain and simply with a main FF game. It’s got a straightforward vision and it came out finished. The highs are so high, especially those boss fights.

My biggest gripe with it is that it does neither of its two genres particularly amazingly. The character action/ combat system is fun and definitely has some depth, but it’s pretty broken and no enemy REALLY feels like a threat.

The ’RPG’ part is kind of meaningless and all it really contributes is a bunch of padding. Stats are basically meaningless, I never thought about equipment once. It’s definitely closer to doing the DMC stuff well. If they just tightened up the world design and took out a bunch of the fetch quests, it’d be a much better game. You can basically ignore all of the side stuff. While the story is refreshingly simple, it would have been nice if they went a touch deeper with some of its ideas. I also don’t think having some more goofy Final Fantasy creatures and races would have been jarring. The one Moogle that shows up is nice. Throw a few more in. Chuck in a few Shoopuffs.

But whatever. It did a lot of stuff so well that I can forgive a lot of that. The soundtrack kicks ass. There’s a nice man called Gav. It does the kaiju boss fights that Bayo 3 tried to do, but actually good. Clive’s slutty outfit is ridiculous.

I had a great time. The menu theme rocks my world.

Waited until I could get my hands on a Switch N64 controller before playing this on NSO. Good god this game rules. So good that you can completely overlook not having a clue what’s going on, and not being able to hear a word anyone is saying. I’ve played it through twice more since finishing it. I want to go again.

Sin and Punishment!

Anything that invents Wario gets five stars.

I have nothing of value to say. Leon’s juicy tits.

I’ve been trying to keep a habit of playing games with a notebook nearby and lemme tell ya this is just great notebook game material.

Mostly had a great time. There’s a lot of irksome bits that’ll keep me from replaying it though, which is usually the best part of Bayonetta games for me, so that’s a shame. Still, lots of series peaks in this, just probably the weakest of the three as a whole.

Viola’s theme rules.
