bigbigchungers completed Plants vs. Zombies
getting real fucking tired of these Indie farming simulators.

Jokes aside, there was a sincere attempt to really make something with PvZ that could never really be felt in later games in the now gargantuar-n (please laugh) franchise. I find myself at awe at how much a game from 2009 was willing to include basically for free. For less than a pound on steam, (I got it on sale, but it usually sits at around £4) I got a fun and endlessly enjoyable campaign alongside a load of other bonus modes and extras (The almanac and zen garden will always be very cute) that all compliment each other and never feel like bloated add-ons.

PvZ is a game so timeless not solely because of it’s gameplay but because you can tell the studio really tried with this one. Im not saying this to demean the sequels (I’ve had plenty of fun with GW2 and PvZ2 is pretty fun for the first few hours) but the modest charm of the original really is just something the series (and many other games of the like) failed to replicate moving forward.
