What an amazing addition to the PoP franchise. This game is a well-made Metroidvania in which we play as Sargon, one of the Immortals. They’re tasked with protecting all of Persia and the Queen.
When the Prince is kidnapped, we’re sent on a mission to Mount Qaf to rescue him.
This games focuses heavily on melee combat. There is also a risk/reward mechanic with parrying enemy attacks. All of the biomes are different and there’s one area that ranks among my favorite in all Metroidvania games. Hint: it involves the ocean, and the sands of time.
There are also side quests that were able to complete as we make our way through the game.
I enjoyed playing this game and I’m looking forward to the next one.

Great remaster of a 2003 GameCube game. Metroidvania but 1st person instead of side scroller.
There is a lot of backtracking which took me out of it a little. My main gripe is the lack of auto save. Save stations are sparse and dying can potentially set you back hours of progress.
The map was great though, with a variety of biomes. Combat was fun but occasionally became repetitive when the same mobs were spawning in the same rooms.
I enjoyed exploring the planet and unlocking more of the map as I gathered more weapons and tools. Last boss fight was fun too!
