The best Zelda game isn't a Zelda game!

Great combat but the plot meanders a lot and the ending is really weak, also it has a great idea to have the force powers used as Metroidvania/Arkham Asylum-esque exploration tools but does basically nothing with it. I think a sequel could really be something special, though, especially if they distance themselves from the narrative bleakness inherit to the between III and IV era of Star Wars

Insulting to the player's intelligence, not cute, not scary. Gives visual novels and dating sims a bad name. Stay away.

A formula iterated on until it reaches perfection, as somber and moody as its forebears while exploring but with a combat system far more fast-paced and violent. Incredible stuff and a monumental achievement in game design.

All the things you like about Zelda such as multipurpose items, a sense of adventure, engaging dungeons with challenging puzzles aren't here. The combat and exploration are fine but paper thin, and the shrines are so hit and miss it's baffling.
