So much nostalgia for me on this game. Never had so much fun taking photos.

I always heard that this game was wonderful and thought it was just childhood nostalgia talking. I decided to give it a chance, and it turned out to be the most enjoyable nearly 5 hours of my life! If I were a kid when this was released, I probably would have become attached in ways I can't describe. Give it a chance!

This was another game my grandparents had for their N64. Will forever be another nostalgic experience going forward.

The only thing cooler than going on a trip to different biomes and taking pictures of Pokemon is going to your Blockbuster and printing out said photos. The 90s ruled.

Deadlocked strips the Ratchet and Clank franchise down to its core action and shooting elements with platforming and movement tech heavily de-emphasized. Naturally if you like well made platformers, this game will leave you a little underwhelmed. If you like blowing crap up constantly though? Then this game is for you. It's really good mindless fun, with enough depth and variety to keep you engaged throughout. It doesn't overstay its welcome either, so it's a nice way to kill a couple afternoons. Check it out if you love arena combat and constant explosions.

I wasn't nearly as big on this as I was the original trilogy. One of my favorite things about this franchise is the planets, the exploring, but when you just make most of the game an arena battle I can't help but feel not as interested, especially when the story is as basic as this one is. Still the combat is fun and it isn't a waste of time but just not the same.

6.8/10

A bold direction to go for the series even if it is more of a spin-off in tone.

The natural progression the series was going, being less and less focused on platforming each game. I think it works here as a one-off but im glad this wasn't the style going forward.

A fun story with great characters, the announcers are great in each level. Some of the best weapons in the series, gotta love the Leviathon Flail

Loses all the magic of the original, gains great grittyness though.

So yeah, I played this one first, so can't really compare this to the first game.
I appreciate the ambition, the story, gameplay and graphics have potential to work, and they do, but then you encounter one thing that doesn't, but I do think the good parts are strong enough to at least make this game good.

While bigger, longer, and with a clearly larger budget than its predecessor, shitty checkpoints, some questionable design decisions and repetitive quest structure make it a worse overall experience for me. Still goes pretty hard in most other aspects though.
