Later levels in this game are dreadful

I played it on PC. It plays fine, the music hasn't worked since my childhood. It's soooooooooooo short... The drop-shadows are hard to see, so it's hard to platform sometimes

it didn't grab me. it's probably more fun to play with someone

Almost non existent input lag and high FPS support makes this version the definitive for me. I know that graphically is weird, but with mods it's fine. When Re-Rainbow releases it'll be even better.

Fixing this game on PC with mods and HEX edits is worth it. The Gamecube version is so janky that I can't stand playing it for too long, but the PC version with fixes makes this game a loooooooooot better. Sure, there are still problems, but I even don't mind the stage lenght anymore and that's weird to me.

(OUTDATED) Top tier music, amazing cyberspace stages, weird control decisions with the new characters. Perfect parry is too much in a final trial (remember that every difficulty has different timing), and you can't apply it later in a normal game, very disappointing. Last boss maybe is a good spectacle, but it's too confusing for the first time (Please use RB/R1 in a fight). Loved challenges on the island, new bosses were a cool surprise, but where are the normal enemies? New characters can't fight them, so they feel underused. That's a shame, because fighting with Knuckles is the first thing i wanted to try, and it's on bosses that have too much health. I love fighting with Tails, it's like 3D Mega Man with a charged shot. But come on, he breaks the game with the Cyclone. It's too much, but in the long run it doesn't matter. Just don't overuse it. Amy is fine with her triple jump. Why does knuckles have to stop for a second to glide and stomp? and his gliding is like steering a boat. HMM codes and mods helps in that way. I saw that the patch is coming soon and we will see what is changed, but meh, I don't count on much. Anyway, you can improve it greatly for yourself using codes in HMM or checking online how to beat trials (the second one, ugh!) and bosses. I still enjoyed it, and it's better on replay when you know what to do.

I love this game. It never gets boring for me. Great controls, even in cyberspace, which allows for experimentation, top tier music everywhere, good story with a lot of potential for future titles. I don't mind that much reusing a few stages because of new controls, remixed layouts and speedrun tech. I think the key to this game is the freedom of everything. You can focus on one thing you like and skip another, you can fly everywhere, launching from hills and rails to collect things or do it the "normal" way. It greatly improves the replayability. The updates improved a lot in this game, even if it was still good. The spindash is amazing, jukebox is nice, action chain is fun, another options for customizing physics are great for those who want to experiment. New koco challenges are very experimental, but it's a good thing. The combat can be samey, but not really. Some skills are better for one enemy, some for other. Cylooping, juggling a few of them and attacking them in the same time feels great. And I'm talking about basic enemies here. Guardians are great and creative. Not very big fan of fortress, because in the first phase it's just boring, but it's not offensive, it's just fine. Titans are stupid spectacle which everybody loves, but really, we need that parry shorter. So I recommend a HedgeModManager, and a few mods/codes for the perfect version: Boost Blur Fix, Discord Frontiers, Parry Window Editor/Disable Card Spin Boost Transition, Disable Gliding Transition, Disable Stomp Transition, Disable Cyclone Transition, Disable Stomp Transition (Tails) (Whoops, a lot for the Final Horizon Update), Disable Umbrella Camera Lock-On, Smooth Camera, Fix Grind Leaning, Fix Player Deceleration (a new patch is coming so I thing it will be fixed soon), Fix Quick Step Animation (same here), Fix Rail Landing Direction, Fix Rail Switching Animation, Fix Shadow Stutter, Fix Wall Walking (not tested, but looked good), Force 4K Video Playback, Always Hide Mouse Cursor. You really don't need those mods to enjoy this game, but it just improves a little nitpicks.

Well, it's a nice, short game. Presentation is simple, but it works very well. Steam achievements are ultra annoying tho. It's really hard to rate because of it's lenght. And price! It's free, play it!

Great game! It looks amazing, I think even better than K2 and 7. I loved the story, and ending destroyed me. Shame that new games killed the importance of this plot, but we will see. For a while it was truly an end of Kiryu saga, and it concluded nicely. Painful, but nicely. Gameplay is completely fine, I would say it's fun. Leveling up feels weird in this game, you really don't feel that impact. Presentation and sound is top notch, can't complain.

Pretty good game for somebody who didn't beat the original Yakuza 2. Licenced music KILLS the vibe of more important cutscenes and destroys the meaning of the ending, so I highly recommend a mod for it. I liked the gameplay and the new engine, plot is decent. Not a huge fan of the main villain but it's still good. The story had a few very stupid moments and typical Like a dragon plot twists, but whatever.

My outdated review from Steam 23.10.2023

"I played this game on Ouya, it was pretty fun to discover a lot of things, but sometimes the map was changing for different stuff. Alright, sure. Then I bought it on PC, and I saw three different versions, and every another one was different. Of course, the content was entirely different and you can't revisit the old maps, at least i don't know how. But when I played one of the versions and I went to the gym, there was still a lot of cool and funny stuff and I had fun for a while. Now I played it again few days ago, and only V2 and V3 is available. One emptier than the other. That's just ridiculous. It runs fine, but it sooooo empty. I mean, don't get me wrong, V2 is still much better than "Amazing frog ? 2", but its boring. That's the problem. Huge map, and for what? A lot of trees? Amazing Frog is fun when you play it with somebody on split-screen in the small town, discovering nooks and crannies, new outfits, remote controlled cars on the parkings roof, traveling to the moon for a while. Now I don't really know where all of that stuff is, the phone is empty, it tries to be a gta clone? maybe parody? when I played it a few days ago the only thing that was cool was unlocking the rest of the map. Everywhere you go you see that damn "IN DEVELOPEMENT". Guys, this game has 10 years and is less fun that before. Developers, please, focus on one thing, not three. Maybe I'm missing something, please let me know, but I just want to have fun sometimes with my friend in this game. I don't have ouya anymore to play the original version."

Pretty good game overall. Great level design and surprises, cool gimmicks, good music (most of the time). The low point of this game are the bosses - they took too long, even if I think that the challenge is good. Finally, a Sonic game with good difficulty curve. Unlockable story is pretty hard tho. I played singleplayer and I didn't encountered almost any bugs. The peelout animation was missing once and I think that's it. I saw that multiplayer can be pretty buggy tho. The online was only a fine addition for me. And thank you for the 60+ fps on PC, I am so tired of locked 60. No major input lag with Vsync on, it played very smooth. Oh, yeah, I almost forgot! The spindash is harder to rev on 60+ FPS.
