2020

This game was funny in like 2014.

I didn't know this was made by the creators of ROM (one of my favorite games I played as a 12 yr old). It feels edgier and more adult but with some of the STRONGEST writing I've seen in a game and I absolutely love this game. Going into the top favorites.

This game just got out of early access. I'm playing it at my own pace, which I guess I'm not used to since I prefer time crunch in games. However, it's very cute and has gorgeous graphics and a lot of the gameplay is fun, I understand why there's not much character customization although I do wish there were at least hairstyles.
Still going thru aspects of the game, love the minigames and I'll be excited to change this review when I play more than 20 hours. The prologue was very long ngl but I'm glad it serves as an actually useful introduction to this game.
Also edit I haven't married anyone yet because my main complaint is the characters. They're very one dimensional so I still don't know who to marry. I'm probably gonna marry that ginger dude like everyone else because he's the only guy who's my age.

I love this game! It's cute and very beautiful even if it's old, although I played it on casual and just did achievements on the normal mode mainly because it got too overwhelming for me on normal mode- might play it for a challenge one day, but casual becomes a very calming and fun gamemode.
...
Btw apologies for starving the pink slimes I just loved exploring the world way too much. Waiting to buy Slime Rancher 2.

I love this game a lot, the characters are charming and this game just gives those Tumblr-esque quirkyness vibes that makes people hate games but as someone who's somewhat nostalgic over old internet humor- This game delivers so hard. The art also is really cute and I like learning to draw in this style- might make a mod for this game eventually when I finish drawing portraits for Stardew Valley.
My main complaint is that the gameplay can get repetitive after a while- and obviously, some of the humor is very dated since this is a relatively old indie game. But there's enough random events during the gameplay which makes it fun enough to play through.

Ok review: I picked this game up at first when I was 14-15 and played through everything, missing only 1 achievement. Played it again a bit ago and holy shit this game literally doesn't age (that's a good thing). It's so timeless to the point it genuinely started like its own weird genre of dystopian repetitive play (looking at Booth which I also played).

If ur autistic ull love the routine of this game ngl. Even if you aren't the game makes it varied and fun enough everyday that the routine becomes easy enough to memorize. It's also got a randomized element to it and different endings which makes it have a replayability element to it.

TLDR I fucking love Papers, Please.

I'm 6 hours in and it's already one of my top favorite games ever.

EDIT: I finished the game. Literally a fucking masterpiece.

Forgot when I started this. I love grindy and suffer-worthy jrpgs so I do like this game a lot. It's literally fun for me because it's so grindy and I think this game is for very VERY niche kinds of people so I wouldn't recommend it to most people who prefer casual stuff or even people into other kinds of games. Also I'm incredibly overleveled I don't know why I'm always overleveled in jrpgs but the bosses have been easy yet fun so far. (Currently starting my first CH. 3)

The main game is cute, sweet, fun and short but some of the minigames are incredibly tedious and not fun at all. Idk whose idea it was to make the ball minigame but its the most tedious and annoying minigame ever.

psychological horror combined with silly creatures what else could you want

Really charming game, love the writing and the voice acting. The characters were my favorite part, I fell in love with Fitz I think.

The homoerotic tension between Charles and Henry was driving me insane the whole time Love this game

Played for 6 hours- and I know it's still in early access, but as other people have said the dialogue is very strange and detracts from my engagement with the game and plot unfortunately. It has GORGEOUS artwork and it was genuinely lots of fun, so hopefully there's the possibility of more translators working on the game.

I've never played this game I just wanted to give it 1 star.
