Off the bat, there are improvements over BotW. The power set is infinitely better and, woah, actually practical to use during combat! What they achieved with the physics system is incredible and worthy of praise. But man about 15 hours in I had to throw in the towel cause the structural problems I had with BotW are virtually unchanged. They throw you in an empty sandbox with some toys and say "ok go make your own fun" and that just doesn't click with me. There's so much they could improve like hey, maybe make the rewards for me going out of my way to do something not terrible, but it just doesn't seem interested to.
The first ten hours or so are magical, just an incredible experience exploring and adventuring and for some people that feeling continues for hundreds, even thousands of hours
But idk man the longer I played it the more I disliked it. The combat is actually terrible, the puzzles being split into one offs is super unfulfilling, any challenge from the weapon degradation is lost when it starts throwing powerful weapons at you like they're candy halfway through, the enemy variety is bad, the four "dungeons" are boring gimmicks, the story is uninteresting... you get the point, it just didn't click for me

Every five years or so I get to asking myself "I know Ocarina of Time is good, but is it really that good?" and I replay it and here's the thing fellas - it really is that good
The 3DS remake is generally an excellent way to play it - incredibly faithful in visuals and gameplay with more than enough smart, good changes (gyro aiming, great 3D, instant boot swapping) to offset the one or two complaints I could have (final boss lighting isn't quite right)

This game went through development HELL but honestly it's maybe my favorite post-NMH pre-TSA Grasshopper game? The combat is incredibly fun, looks fantastic given that it's GhM's first HD game on UE3, and Garcia Hotspur is just the coolest guy. Can't go wrong with Steve Blum putting on a Mexican accent

every time david makes a bad tweet just gotta remind yourself he made dusk he can say what he wants
I should probably mention something about the sublime level design that's so tight you won't even notice the lack of a map or the fantastic weapon selection or the atmospheric quake-esque graphics but those all speak for themselves really
