This is definitely my favorite of the Shovel Knight campaigns. Specter Knight feels great to play as, the revamped levels are great, I love the change in structure, and the story's really good! Also, there are grind rails. Every game is better with grind rails.

Plague Knight is such a fun character in so many ways, from his design to his dialogue to his relationships with other characters.

I just wish some of that fun extended to his controls.

I never really got the hype behind Shovel Knight. Maybe it's because I first played it in an era where indie pixel platformers were a dime a dozen, but there was never anything about it that really stood out to me compared to its 2D platforming contemporaries.

That said, it does have some neat ideas, and while I don't think they were utilized to the fullest until later expansions, I have to appreciate how it laid the groundwork. And of course, I certainly respect what it did for indie games and for the industry as a whole.

I spontaneously felt like replaying this and yeah, it's still amazing. I forgot enough of the puzzles for them to still be fresh, but I remembered enough of them for the game to not be frustrating. Hell, the stealth section in Chapter 9 wasn't even that bad this time around. The visuals and music are as great as ever, and the story is just as good, if not better. I noticed so many cool bits of foreshadowing now that I knew all the plot twists, and I even cried at a couple points. I'm still not sure whether this is my favorite Shu Takumi game over TGAA2, but I do know it is an absolutely phenomenal game that everyone should experience at least once.

Battle Cats is a game where you collect funny cats and use them to take over the world. The gameplay is very basic, but the cats are very funny. There is definitely some typical mobile/gacha game bullshit here, but the game's generous enough with free stuff that it's not too much of a problem. It's not something I see myself going back to anytime soon, but it's probably one of the better mobile games I've played.

If the Devil did indeed cry, it was from having to play this game

The opening cutscene where like, 20 Sigmas walk out of that capsule or whatever it was is the funniest thing in all of Mega Man. Because yeah, that pretty much sums up the X series.

My actual thoughts while playing X7 for the first time:

"Oh, this isn't so bad. The lock-on's annoying and the graphical style is painful to look at, but there are some neat concepts at play here. This could actually be fun."

(Game Enters 3D)

"...Oh."

It's like X5, but actually bad

It's like X4 but not as good

(Continued from my X3 review)

Huh, I guess they did do better.

This is my favorite X game. The core gameplay is really fun for both main characters and the stages and bosses make great use of it. The story is hilariously dumb and I've come to accept that I don't like Mega Man's PS1 spritework, but that doesn't detract much from one of the finest games in the franchise.

I know this is the first game where Zero was playable but how do you make a character as cool as Zero so boring to play as? You can do better, Capcom.

A pretty solid step forward over X1. Having the dash from the start does wonders for the stage design, and there are some neat little additions on top of that. While there are parts of the original X I prefer, it's still nice to see this subseries start to come into its own

Everyone's gotta start from somewhere, I guess.

Not my personal cup of tea, but I can acknowledge it was a big step forward for Mario Kart. If I was a kid in the 90's, I would've loved this growing up.
