It doesn’t add much to the story so it’s not essential to get it or play it. Not even worth watching on YouTube. It’s just more of the same. And that same already started to get boring in the main game, it’s really boring here. At least technically the game is still great. This game has a really good atmosphere.

The Full Review(No Spoiler for THIS DLC, Spoilers for the Main Game):

It’s Not a Lake, It’s an Ocean
Alan Wake’s first DLC episode, is just fine. There is not much to discuss so this review will be brief.

This DLC continues on from the ending of the original game though it doesn’t give us much more story details. It’s focused on, you guessed it, combat. Which is unfortunately still not very varied.

There is no new enemy types or weapon types in here. It mostly focuses on the words element that was shown at the end of Episode 6 in the original game. There are floating words around like “tools”, “reload”, “recharge” or sometimes bad things like “enemy”, “possessed” so you need to be careful about where you are pointing your light.

It’s also a very short DLC, my first playthrough took me 90 minutes on normal difficulty. Difficulty feels increased in the DLC. Though that’s probably due to some enemy encounters indoors. Those really beat me up. And to get all the trophies, it took me 2.5 hours in total.

I dunno man I’m just trying to eat my veggies so I can have my Alan Wake 2 steak. But yeah it’s not good.
