Perfect 4-player co-op game with rewarding loot and character leveling trees along with an awesome world plus DLC that leaves so much replayability.
I've beat the main storyline three times but still have yet to play all the DLC because of how much content there is.

Easily one of the best looter shooters I've ever played. There may have been better games that have come out more recently, but there is something cozy about this game in particular. The humor isn't for everyone and it certainly can get a bit repetitive, but for its time it was a revolutionary game, and also still the best in the franchise in my opinion.

Completed original game on PS3 as well. Updated shooting mechanics, better story and more color than just desert brown, it's an upgrade and the better game in the series overall. One of my favourites.

One of the best video games of all time.

Borderlands 2: GOTY Edition is a remastered bundle of 2 and all of its DLCs. Its a fantastic sequel and step up from Borderlands 1 and as a sequel it improves on almost all accounts and more.

Gameplay: Borderlands 2 steps up in almost every way from the first game. This game’s combat and gameplay style is very similar to the first game with a few minor tweaks to keep it running smooth. Much like in the first game this is an open world RPG, looter shooter where you go from area to area doing quests and looting the map for better guns and gear. You pick from 4 different characters (plus some cool DLC characters) and can play this game entirely 4 player co-op or solo. The level up system and skill tree is very similar to the first game with how it works, they now added challenge tokens and challenges that allow you to upgrade things like your health and damage as well. A new gameplay feature to BL2 is the inclusion of Eridium which is a new rare purple currency you find throughout the game to upgrade your ammo and backpack slots whereas in the first game this was done via claptrap missions. The combat gets better with an all-new variety of enemies like different types of new bandits, creatures and loader bots to fight. The new way we fight enemies in this game with elemental weapons was a huge step up as well and made for a much more fun and satisfying play style.

Graphics, Voice Acting, Music: A lot of the much-needed changes came for the visual art style in this game. The game is still a comic book, cell shaded game but a big complaint with the first game everything was a baron waste land with little room for color or interesting environments. This game brings in beautiful and vastly different environments with, Cities, Green pastures, Oasis Desserts and even Ice and frozen areas. My personal favorite area was the Caustic Cavern which had green rivers of acid and gold bundles everywhere. It made for a fun map sweep and grind to sweep the area of its resources and do quests. The voice acting is much better this time around with characters like claptrap being much funnier this time around and people, like the new villain Handsome Jack giving incredible performances. The music and environmental sounds and themes are all a huge step up as well with lots of fun and catchy themes coming through the mix. The main song from 'The Heavy' is great and fits borderlands so well.

Story/ No spoilers: The story continues after the events of the first game some years later, on the bandit planet of Pandora with an Eridium event erupting from the planet and bringing in a corporation called Hyperion with a new villain, Handsome Jack. Handsome Jack has to be one of the all-time best villains in a video game. He's funny, tragic, evil and it comes as easy to see his perspective on things and how the outside world sees him as the hero. Very cool story telling stuff and honestly, I'm not sure if borderlands will ever be able to keep a good story like this going into other games. I don't usually try to over hype games when I don't need to but let me put it to you this way, I didn't play this game with friends or when it came out. I played it years later not knowing anything about it and It's probably one of my all-time favorite games and I'm not a huge RPG kinda guy. This game is fantastic and the DLCS are just as amazing, can’t recommend this game enough. I don't want to spoil much more about it than this so go play it, especially if you loved BD1 or like RPG looter shooters! Overall, aside from some minor glitches and maybe 2 crashes id give this game a 9.5/10

Bought this with B1: Pre-Sequel in a deal. Couldn't really play them because it made me so nauseous and motion sick. Oh Lord did I feel like a churning boat upon the sea. For five minutes of gunplay, I suffered an uneasy malaise for nearly an hour. I cannot provide a star rating for this reason. Maybe it's fine if you're not motion sick.

My favorite game of all time. This is including all of the DLCs. Amazing story, one of the best villians ever, gameplay loop is also really fun.

spent as much of my life in this game as I did in Skyrim

Solid ass game.

didn't pay much attention to the story as I picked it up here and there, BUT. This game has some of the most fun gameplay I have played in a while and I am glad i returned to this. Fucking awesome shooting villains in the head, blowing the arms off the robots etc. combat = satisfying.
However, difficulty spikes were fucking dumb. The dumb bosses at the end werent really fun to beat because THEY WERE SO FUCKING STRONG (I was lvl 29 before going to the endgame). That's really the only thing about the game I disliked. This is a game everyone needs to playthrough once.

I have attempted to finish borderlands 2 twice now, and even though I adore the story, characters and gameplay, I haven't been able to finish it. I do think that borderlands 2 is a very well made game, with great gameplay and a very good story, but It's not for me, and I think it's gonna stay that way.

One of my favorites ever.
A FPS with a diablo-like loot system, you shoot bad guys in the face with randomly generated weapons until they die so they drop shinier loot to kill bad guys faster. Simple enough but if we also get 6 playable characters with different builds to choose from that affect your playstyle make the game feel varied enough for a lot of playthroughs (I'm already at 16 and still counting). The only downside is that the guns often feel like airsoft guns, as in lacking impact and power, but that can be easily overlooked.
The world is also great, the sidequests span from challenging semibosses to random errands to stuff like "Shoot this guy in the face" which offers a lot of variety. You can also explore the areas and find something in almost every corner, most likely a hidden special enemy that can drop a legendary weapon. Speaking of legendary weapons, the loot system and the drop ratio make the perfect combination to make that finding that orange stick among all the other junk that a boss can drop oh, SO satisfying.
The humor is right on point, the references are great and the characters are charismatic as fuck, specially the main villain, one of the best of the generation.
The game overall overflows with personality to make it feel truly a unique experience. Lastly, the stoy surprised me a lot, it's not gonna blow your mind or anything but it's a lot better than most shooters, actually good.
Also this version includes all the DLCs and expansions that add a lot of layers to deepen even more the endgame, you can sink maybe 100h until you max out and optimize a character's build.

- Can't track more than one quest at a time.
- The map, and especially the inventory system, are horrible on PC. Might be better with a controller.
- You drive vehicles a lot. The vehicles are very floaty, and light. You turn by moving the camera where you want to go, which sucks, but it's also on a delay. You'll get stuck and drive off into walls and off ledges a lot.
- Lots of backtracking and spending ages just running back and forth across levels with enemies way below you.
- Terrible writing and annoying characters. Even if you like it and the cringe humour, you won't get to experience it. It's barely audible over the shooting, and is constantly interrupted.

Never thought someone saying they want to eat my babies would make a game so much fun. The game is hilarious and the art-style is cool, with a story and gameplay like this, it's become one of my all-time favorites.

Started playing this game in maybe 2015 after I bought a loose ex-rental copy, played the shit out of it, loved it, thought it was wayyyy better than BL1.
Turns out that copy of the game was the wrong reigon to play DLC so I had to beg ma to buy the GOTY / season pass version on PSN when it was $20aud. From that point on it was all I played till maybe 2018 and I still play it occasionally.

There is so much SHIT to do, the art is good, the dificulty is tollerable and expects you to do SOME homework and the community always documents where to find shit and how. It lets you build characters how you want in any way you want. PS3 version ran like ass and conked out my whole ass PS3 at times tho.
I'll probably do another playthru soon.

Had to go back deep in my steam library to find my time on this game but man I fucking adore this game. With a package that is consistently on sale and comes with so much content packed in it. I think this game genuinely is such an amazing video game, and I think some of it is the writing and I very much emphasize some. I think time has been the most evil to this game's writing more than any part of it with very old canned pop culture references that were relevant in 2012. I think also even with the knowledge of said references for back then I think the writing overall is pretty weak because of said dialogue. With some jokes being absolute hits but thats only some of the jokes and a small amount. The Handsome Jack spoon story is a top 3 video game joke. The amount of customization that's on offer for build crafting every single character and the absolute plethora of end game content. With Tiny Tina's Assault on Dragonkeep being one of the best dlcs ever made for a video game. There is no doubt why this game is my favorite one in the series.

I spent too much time on this game.

Borderlands 2 is a fantastic video game that has yet to be beaten in its genre. The world of Pandora introduced in BL1 has been expanded to extreme heights, and the characters living within the world have also been given an overhaul. The writing and story in this game are impeccable, allowing for a truly emotional experience in a game filled with fart jokes and surreal stupidity creating a perfect mix of humor and drama.

The guns found across the world are all creative, and the builds available for the player to create are all masterfully crafted to allow anyone to pick up a character and create a legend. While the game-play isn't as refined as it once was, the character builds and an infinite amount of replayability keeps you coming back and wanting more.

Playing this game with friends is an amazing experience on its own. Playing this game co-op has made me and my friends permanent fans of the franchise and has given us some of our favorite gaming memories.

Borderlands 2 is truly a gaming classic and cements itself as the reigning King of the Looter Shooter genre.

So you want to hear a review, eh? Well you are in luck because this one will be a lengthy one for sure!

Borderlands 2 is probably one of the most beloved games ever created and with a good reason. Insane amount of loot, great classes to choose from, decent skills, a beautiful art style and tons of creative scenarios will makes sure that you have a great time on Pandora. This was my sixth playthrough, and I was pretty excited to experience this whole package again, and while I found some things that annoyed me, overall, this is still a stellar game to play.

I enjoyed the chaotic writing, the jokes and the overall insane amount of content and creativity that went into creating absurd side missions and jokes. What I did not like is the fact that with this amount of side content, you need to choose after some hours in what you want to do. You focus on the side quests or do the story missions, because the story is very tight, and if you stop to do some side stuff between missions, it can quickly lose it's momentum. On the other hand, if you do not level yourself up, the game can really make you suffer, as your level will be way lower than what you need to catch up with the story.

The other bigger negative aspect is the gun variety, as the game sometimes does not offer loot that is satisfying, instead it throws in a bunch of shield and grenades as a filler. The weapons themselves are cool but they are lacking creativity even with the elemental stuff (Borderlands 3 improved this).

The writing can be hit-or-miss but it is mostly enjoyable and I found most of the jokes still funny, even though some were brutally dated even for it's own time. Characters from the previous entry provide very good dialogue though, so even if you do not vibe with the game, you will probably appreciate how well the writers implemented the previous cast into the game.

As for the new characters, I like almost all of them except for Salvador. He is fine, I just do not like his playstyle with the dual wielding. Axton and Gaige are probably my favorite, but I really like Maya and Zero as well. I weirdly never played with Krieg before. I recommend Axton and Gaige for solo plays and after getting familiar with the game, any class is okay to start with. Axton's turret can be a lifesaver, and Gaige's robot can tank everything for you if you use it right, so they both can be insanely OP.

And what about the DLCs? Well...

Captain Scarlett and Her Pirate's Booty:

A very decent new zone with lots of sand and a pirate theme. I really love Shade and his design, as he was obviously inspired by the character of Johnny Depp from Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas. The bosses are okay and the overall DLC is very creative with the pirate stuff, I just wish the later missions weren't so boring, as the game tries to pan out them in order to make the experience longer (looking at you Herbert). Overall, fun DLC that is a little bit annoying in the end.

Mr. Torgue's Campaign of Carnage:

Insanely fun DLC with Torgue's over the top performance that makes up for all of the things this DLC lacks. I do not want to spoil anything from it, because it has some very good writing, so you just better check this one out.

Sir Hammerlock's Big Game Hunt:

The Big Game Hunt is the most hated one from the bunch and I can see why, even I hated parts from it and found some designs questionable but I liked what this one is going for with the old fashioned adventure movie vibe and the main bad guy. It is quite short, you can have some fun with it but you can skip it.

Tiny Tina's Assault on Dragon Keep:

The star of the show, the DLC that everyone loves for how creative it is with it's fantasy setting. To be honest, I loved this one too but I found the writing of Tina a bit too much for me. I did not like some parts of the campaign because of this, as it made me realize that I liked her way more in Tiny Tina's Wonderlands, as her sadness and grief were portrayed much better there. Overall, this one is the best of them all, and I highly recommend checking it out.

considered full of outdated memes and bad jokes even by contemporary critics. Any joke is a hit or miss, mostly very painful misses, with chuckle worthy jokes spread thinly. Playing feels like a blurry mindless mess despite having somewhat strong rpg building options for a game that is not billed as an rpg shooter and a numerous collection of randomly generated firearms.

Extra half star for the character Kreig being an actually very good example of a melee focused character in a shooter done well.

ok game krieg made it better(wont touch it again)

- Builds on the first game, feels more up-to-date
- Tighter controls, more to do & more zany characters and locations
- All the DLC was great, no DLC as bad as the Moxxi DLC in Borderlands
- So many guns & variations, it encouraged me to test & try different types
- Has a bitter feel somewhat as I played it on PC back in the day, and lost a day or two of progress which made me very much lose interest
- Went back to it years later, started from scratch and finally completed it

My thoughts won't be sumarised here refer to my profile for my thoughts on the dlc's and base game this is to simply document log times for my playthrough on PS3 so my opinions will be the same between both versions.

This game is the best borderlands game and is secretly one of my favourite game, I love everything about this game, from the environment to the random bosses, and sitting on top of all those good things is Handsome jack, easily my favourite villain in games and fiction, truly terrifying and funny, its a masterpiece, go play it.

Pretty solid collection of Borderlands 2 and its story and character DLCs in one package. Not included are the Headhunter packs, which are mostly non-canon side stories. For the PS3 version, the DLC all comes on one disc, which can be installed from the PS3 main menu.

Huge step up from the original, nice as hell

Funny silly shooter, a lil grindy but still entertaining.
Only finished Main Campaign and two expansions

Looter shooter en kötü şey

dw anthony burch I thought your joke was aight 😁
