...God, this chapter gave me PTSD with how long I took to finish this...

This is like doing 30 C-sides back to back. I have never enjoyed being made a game's bitch more.

this has to be bad for my health. feels like i lost 5 fucking years of my lifespan beating this shit

got the moon berry tho yay!

GRIEF HAPPENS. WE EITHER FALL TO IT, OR RISE ABOVE.

LOVE WILL FIND YOU REGARDLESS, BUT YOU MUST TAKE ITS HAND.

Let yourself feel the warmth of another. You will be set free.

Played and beat in about 10 hours on the day of release. Incredible sendoff to one of my favorite games of all time. Celeste is so, so important to me and it was a pure joy to revisit it like this.

Farewell is what solidified Celeste as my favorite game ever.

It ties up everything the world of Celeste has to offer while giving the hardest challenge to its players. While the difficulty for the chapter is much higher, the levels and crystal hearts required to reach this chapter ends up preparing the player for the mechanical hurtles of difficulty required. The story for this chapter is perfect and the ost perfectly captures the mood of every scene.

The best level Celeste has too offer, but i guess it's rlly hard for the casual players

Celeste is my favorite platformer and this free DLC is some of the best and hardest content it has to offer. An incredible extension of the mechanics and narrative, its brutal, but very very doable and extremely satisfying when you're finally able to say Farewell.

PESSOAS TRANS PASSAM PELO LUTO???? DAMN

Call me crazy but this might just be the greatest thing ever made

giving this rating hurt me a lot

i would argue that, as a DLC, this would be better called "epilogue" rather than "chapter 9". i started to play celeste about a month ago and, by then, i didn't know chapter 9 was a DLC. after finishing the A-sides i immediately got into chapter 9, unaware of its crushing difficulty and the advanced movement (taught in the B and C-sides of the game). it made me feel so frustrated i couldn't do it because it left me feeling really incomplete. story wise i also think it would make more sense if this was an epilogue. other than that, i think it's a spectacular (and very long and difficult) chapter of this magnificent game.

Que satisfação terminar esse capítulo...

Idk why this is a seperate listing from the rest of celeste but this chapter is really fucking good

amazing way to finish the game. its difficulty and mechanics feel like such a natural progression of every previous level in the game while also feeling entirely different from every other level. one of the best things I've had the pleasure of experiencing and I will miss celeste dearly

I think Farewell on its own would already be fantastic. it has my favorite Lena Raine songs to date, the level design is great, and honestly it took me longer than the entire rest of the game to beat

but as the culmination of the entirety of Celeste, it's immaculate. beating it is honestly one of the hardest things I've ever done in a game, but it was so so so worth it. it was one of the first games to make me absolutely sob on the final cutscene (altho that might also have something to do with having started hrt not long before playing it lol). it's really really hard, and if you don't wanna spend the time to overcome that it's completely valid, but getting through it was one of the most rewarding experiences of my life. if you can do it, you absolutely absolutely should

I died from finger loss and typed this review as a ghost

"I'm not forcing you I'm asking you. "

"Say goodbye to her for me."

Absolutely incredible DLC. This hit me even harder than the original game.

Farewell is hard as balls, but I got through and feel more in control than ever, even if it only gets harder from here with modpacks. Here's to that and many more!

fantastic. tough as nails and better for it

Amazing sendoff for Celeste. Really damn difficult too 10/10

I'm happy, and sad at the same time. Moon Berry btw

my favorite piece of fiction ever made and the best level in any video game ever and the last screen is my favorite moment in all of gaming
