It's okay, good for fans. The best thing about this game is all the ways characters can die.

I think it's a really underrated game. As a JP story, I think it's rather good actually. It feels like a side story. I liked it quite a bit. It's not nearly as bad as people make it out to be. It does continue with some of the lore of Jurassic Park and is good at best and inoffensive at worst.

Is it sadistic for me to want to kill all the characters?

It would've made a better two hour movie than eight hour game. I mean seriously, this game is a slog to get through but is carried by a somewhat decent story in a beloved ip.

Finalmente terminei este jogo hoje. Esteve parado durante muito tempo por vários motivos, não me cativou o suficiente para continuar a jogá-lo mais de seguida, obriguei-me a termina-lo só para o despachar.

I wrote up a whole review of this yesterday but for some reason Backloggd removed it?
Anyway,
First thing is first, what's up with Gerry?
Gerry, one of the main characters in this game, is a character who appears in the original Jurassic Park movie. In the one scene he is in, the triceratops scene, he is very prominent as 'the old guy with the baseball cap, sunglasses and hair comb mustache'. In this game he never wears a baseball cap or sunglasses, appears to be twenty years younger and is clean shaven, and this game takes place on the exact same day as the movie. In interview, one of the writers was asked about this and they said 'he shaved it between appearing in the movie and appearing here'. Even if I am to believe that he shaved in the middle of the day, at work, without checking on his daughter, that still doesn't explain that we see him BEFORE as well as after he goes to be in the movie. In a seperate interview, the same writer was asked what this is about. All the writer had to say is that it must've been a fake mustache.

But what did I actually think of the game? Well, there really aren't more plot holes than the movie itself has (why is Gerry just allowed to bring his daughter to the island?) It' doesn't take away from the experience. I'll be honest, this game isn't that bad. I'm usually pretty eager to turn my nose up at Telltale but the writing here was alright, the characters were enjoyable enough and none of them were boring. I was always interested to see where the story was going and the gameplay was just ok, honestly other than it just being a little less well laid out on the controller I kind of preffered the gameplay here to the walking dead. As little evolution as Telltale has in their games it's strange that there's good stuff here that is removed in later games (the 'standing still' minigame, being able to talk to people at any time instead of specific moments).

It's not perfect, it runs terribly on the PS3 and could easily be one of the worst optimised games I've ever played, the story is far too slow and could take up two thirds of the time and, most of all, this just doesn't need the gameplay. The only reason having the gameplay makes any sense at all in later Telltale games is beacuse the decisions you make influence the outcome of the narrative, but here that's just not a thing. There is, by my estimation, about two choices that affect about one line and if a character is present at the end of the game, but other than that there's nothing. What this leaves me with is the overwhelming feeling that if this was just a six-episode animated series I'd instantly call this a hidden gem, but as it is this is just a fine interactive experience.
I definitely recommend this to fans of Jurassic Park but don't think I could recommend it to anyone else, at all.

I still think this premise of a group of survivors escaping the original park(aka Speilbergs original idea for the sequel) has potential but still nothing has given it true justice so far, although this did get really close.

This game suffers straight up bad animation at times, silly dialogue, a bizarrely awful framerate, and cheep quick time events. I will always have a soft spot for this game and I respect how ambitious it was but damn they could have done better, WAY better.

Jurassic park The game é tipo: *Aparece T-Rex
Vc tem 3 escolhas:
1-Fugir

The worst thing Telltale games ever made. Zero stability, the game will crash at any given time. It's very frustrating.

Shelved for now since 2015. We'll see when the time comes maybe I'll give it another go.

While I love the story and writing here, as well as some truly scary and tense moments throughout, this is easily Telltale Games' worst game. It's buggy, the art style is ugly, and it has input lag on the console versions.

Na minha opinião é um clássico da Telltale, eu particularmente acho um bom jogo.

This game is divided by episodes, like most of the Telltale games. This is not based on the movie's main story, but it is like a side/parallel story after the incidents of the first Jurassic Park movie. For those who like interactive games with quick-time events and Point & Click, this is a good game. Each phase of the episodes can be completed with Gold, Silver, or Bronze medals, depending on your performance.

Fun spin-off of Jurassic Park based of the original idea Spielberg had for a sequel but doesn't give much justice to the series, being really inconsistent with the canon like featuring JP3 Pteranodons in the first movies setting, the dialog is pretty crumby as well. On the bright side this game has some fun action set pieces, the story and new elements to the lore is pretty interesting, and the new Dinosaurs/Extinct animals are cool but were ultimately retconned. If you like the first Jurassic Park, you'll probably get some enjoyment out of this.

Spielberg's classic dinosaur movie turns into a fun, but not great, episodic adventure.

Probably the best Jurassic Park game I've ever had the pleasure to play, if you don't count Lego Jurassic World or the arcade games.

The world of the films is portrayed very accurately, but that’s pretty much all this game has going for it. Pretty dull characters and story tbh, the puzzles aren’t that interesting and while the voice acting is good it doesn’t really offer much excitement or motivation to finish. Typical TellTale Games’ technical issues hamper the frame rate and the game stutters at many points (probably not helped by the more realistic lighting and character designs).

As I usually say, this is an 'okay' game. There is nothing particularly special or too bad about it. It's 'just a game'. I normally enjoy Telltale games and the experience of choice-based games, which is why I wanted to try this game (after playing bigger titles like The Walking Dead or The Wolf Among Us).

Great romp through a TellTale touch on a childhood classic. Needs a Sequel with RTX on graphics!

When this released I started to think Telltale was really starting to lose it.

Man what a boring game.. I really wanted to like this since I love the Jurassic franchise & Telltale but it's just unbelievably... boring. There's nothing else to say about it really.. I don't even know if I can call it a game it's just cutscenes and obnoxiously long and annoying QTE sequences. I stopped at the roller coaster puzzle cause I felt like it was just not worth it, game wasn't poking my brain in the right places. The dino models are cute tho.

PS Nima my silly little lesbian (She's a grown woman) she never did anything wrong this is not her fault <3

This was probably the must Meh game I've played in a long time. Nothing about it is bad, and I'd be lying if I said I didn't have fun with it; (Although that mostly came from seeing my characters die in funny ways) but still everything is just meh.
The writing is just ok, the character can feel painfully generic at times, the puzzles we're easy as hell. There's nothing wrong with it it's just painfully ok.
If you REALLY like Jurassic Park I'd say check it out, if not just make like Jurassic World 2 and don't think about it.

Jurassic Park: The Game is essentially: JURASSIC PARK - THE PRE-SEQUEL, taking place during and after Jurassic Park 1.

The game is essentially made to answer a question left by the original movie, that being what happened to the Dinosaur embryos stolen and later lost by Dennis Nedry.
Now obviously most of us just assumed, "the capsules expired and thats that."
But apparently no, because this game exists to answer these questions.

Now the issue is to ask whether or not this can be considered canon to the movies. If you want to consider this possible you can as theres evidence stacked for it, but also against it.
It's sort of a 3 way cross roads, best way to look at it would be to look at 3 different possibilities based on your preferences of movies:

1. You like Jurassic Park only (Not the sequels nor Jurassic World) - then noncanon as mentioning Sarah Harding would be pointless Jurassic Park Lost World makes this noncanon.

2. You Like the Original Trilogy - Yes this can be canon because Sarah Harding existing in the second movie and this game slots into an area to where the canon works and flows fine.

3. You Like Jurassic Park and Jurassic World Trilogy - Canon don't really need to explain, it doesn't contradict anything that happens in this area.

(Reason I mention Sarah Harding is because in this game the main characters are Dr Gerry Harding and Jessica Harding, who are family members of Sarah, with Gerry being her father and Jess being her half sister.)

The story of the game is broken up into 5 episodes, essentially breaking the experience up in that typical TELLTALES style.
This essentially is just like BACK TO THE FUTURE: THE GAME however not as good.

Back to the Future The Game felt like a nice edition and feels it can slot perfectly into the BTTF franchise as it takes place after PART 3, this just feels like its tacked on to answer a question most audiences assumed the answer to already.

It's sort of like answering the question in the movie Se7en, where they directly tell you what's in the box and most audiences know as well (except for morons who say "WELL THEY DIDN'T SHOW IT" even though they LITERALLY said it).
And instead they make a game about SE7EN where they explain that inside the box was an ass instead of a head.

The game has characters who essentially are trying to survive the current and post events of the first film.

Dr Gerry and Jessica are the protagonist and are father and daughter. Gerry is considered a father who's never there, while Jessica is just a typical teenager, though she can be very sweet and likable.

There's Nima, whos a mercenary hired to find the Embryos with Miles Chadwick and to see what happened to Dennis Nedry. She's doing this all to gain money and save her daughter from poverty. The reason she's in proverty is because Nima is actually a member of a tribe who was on the island before InGen took it over and forced the people out.

Billy Yoder who is a InGen Mercenary hired to save the hardings, professor Sorkin, and Nima with the help of his mercenary friend Oscar. He is killed during the final episode when his greed gets the best of him after going crazy when Oscar dies. This gets him killed by the T-rex.

Oscar Morales is an InGen Mercenary who was apart of the same mercs who removed Nima's tribe from the island originally, Nima despises him. Oscar has a final chance to atone for his sins by saving the group by allowing himself to be attacked by velociraptors.

Dr Sorkin - Scientist who was actually suppose to be the head of the scientific division of Jurassic Park. Essentially she wanted to use the complete DNA of the Dinosaurs in order to bring back proper ones, instead of replacing the DNA with something else. If you know Jurassic Park, you'll know that Dr. Henry Wu used frog DNA instead of the complete DNA, and the reason why the dinosaurs end up laying eggs is because Frogs can go through a process protogyny.

(protogyny- The condition in which an organism begins life as a female and then changes into a male.)

Dr Sorkin wants to protect the dinosaurs and island however attempts to screw over the group, and for her reward she gets killed by a Tylosaurus (giant water dino).

The story reveals that the embryos are intacted and the entire game is essentially the group attempting to get help off the island.
We find out... SURPRISE... or I guess surprise? Dennis Nedry is... dead. I mean we all knew, though I loved the idea the actor for Dennis Nedry (Wayne Knight) had for Jurassic World:

"It was small dinosaur and a big meal."

His Idea essentially was Nedry survived his attack and he essentially had lost an eye and an arm, and would have an eye patch. Sadly we never got this glorious idea.

Anyway the group consists of Gerry, Jessica, Nima, Billy, and Oscar as they find ways to get off the island. They meet Laura Sorkin who tells them some backstory and information and how some of the deaths of the mercs sent with Billy and Oscar were her fault. Oscar sacrifices himself to save the group. Sorkin dies by the very things she was attempting to protect. And Billy dies during the final portions of the game, where the group is about to get on a boat to escape only for Billy to turn crazy after Oscars death and threaten Gerry, Jess, and Nima. A T-rex shows up and Gerry kicks the barbasol embryo can into the edge of the ocean, Billy chases after it only for the T-Rex to kill him. The embryos are fine until you have to make a POINTLESS decision to either have Nima attempt to get the embryos or let the Trex step on the embryo.

If you choose to save the embryos... CONGRATS Nima dies and the embryos expire. Not only that the game ends with Gerry saying that "Theres a little girl we're going to visit." (implying he's probably going to adopt Nima's Daughter.)

If you choose to let the embryos get destroyed... congrats Nima, Gerry, and Jess all get off the island, Nima sad that she would have any money to help her daughter... except Jess finds in the back of the boat a bag of money... SO WHY THE HELL WOULD YOU EVER CHOOSE THE BAD ENDING.
Unless you don't like the character of Nima.

The Telltale has this formula that to this day is in my opinion a detriment to their episodic style as most of things that happen within the game, your choices and decisions in the long run don't mean anything other than "a character will remember that" or something you did previously in a previous episode will come back to help or haunt you. However here, they legit don't matter other than if you want to see Nima Die or not. Jess nor Gerry can every CANONICALLY die in the game, as there are many quicktime events where they can die. And characters who are SUPPOSE TO DIE are only allowed canonically to die within what TELLTALE wants them to die to.
Even though this is an early TELLTALE Game this is a flaw that continued for most of their games even though they did improve with it.

I think games that did the decision system better was Detroit Become Human, Until Dawn, Heavy Rain, and Mass Effect (1 and 2, not Vanilla 3). As the narrative continues even with the death of a main character.

Still though it's fine for what it is. Nothing special though, not as good as BTTF nor anywhere near WOLF AMONG US or WALKING DEAD.

First Telltale game I ever played. It's not bad. Still playable.

Not really what I expected. Most of the gameplay boils down to quick time events and the last part people's personalities appear to rapidly alter. However Telltale games have not let the story lacking, the characters are engaging and still had a lot of fun playing it.

Definitely buy if a Jurassic Park and Telltale Game fan, but not for full price.

Edit: The game itself, at least last time I played it (which was quite a long time after the final episode was released) had multiple bugs that popped up in the last few episodes with graphical glitches, but beyond that the rest of the episodes were fairly stable.

I personally quite liked the idea of this side-story to the original Jurassic Park, featuring the contact for the guy who was attempting to steal the genetic material off the island and, well, we all know what happened to him. Side-stories can be very interesting in this universe. Especially after having watched the Netflix series set in Jurassic World. Camp Cretaceous

Can't think up much else to say beyond one of the scientists getting angry when she realises her fellow scientist cut corners using frog DNA, leading to the major issues of the dinosaurs in the first movie as they were meant to be unable to breed, but were now able to from the Frog's ability to change it's own gender.

I still recommend it as a fun experience, but there are far better games out there by the same company so this is one of those kinds of games that are only worth it after a sale.

It was fun to play in the world of the Jurassic Park IP, but I would honestly just play LEGO Jurassic World if you're looking to do that. This game is buggy, it doesn't look great, and it kind of just goes through the motions of everything that makes the movies great. Not really worth your time.

The worst telltale game i played
