This is the beginning of the end. Most Japanese developers faced difficulty when they made the jump to HD. Game Freak, on the other hand, fumbled the jump to 3DS. A marked lack of post game content and tap water story signified that GF no longer care about doing anything new.

From Gen 5 to Gen 6 is probably the most substantial step down the franchise has ever seen. I still liked these games, but maybe I was in denial. Who knows.

Way too easy and streamlined. Way too dumbed down. The list goes on - but it's still Pokemon and that carries it.

My first and favorite Pokemon game. Has a full national dex, decent story, but mainly nostalgia. Goated.

Too easy, I avoided all the avoidable trainers and ran away from all the random encounters. Still, I was always overleveled.
The villain team is the worst in the saga, blowing up the planet to return it in a beautiful state? ...Why? The recruits can't say a normal dialogue without talking about something concerning the beautiful, it's annoying from a certain point.

eh it's above average for a pokemon game i guess

Had to take the nostalgia glasses off for this one. Needed more content. Rip Pokémon Z

Even for Pokemon standards this is the bottom of the barrel. Yes I am saying this is the worst one.

everyone always asks Pokemon Y.... but never Pokemon how?

i only played this game to help my friend get the gen 6 national dex and it sucked

Kalos was really negatively impacted by not getting its 3rd version

THEY MADE THE BIRD SHAPED LIKE A "Y" BAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHA

Um jogo bem mediano. Como eu queria que esse jogo fosse o pior Pokémon, mas os caras simplesmente decidiram piorar cada vez mais as novas gerações.

The new Pokemon introduced this generation was very solid! That's the only positive I can think of, really.

This is probably the most generic, uninteresting, and formulaic game in the main series. So many of the characters are dumbed down, streamlined, and ultimately forgettable. The story? No need to even talk about that! I can sum it up by saying "Predictable". But that's not the worse of it. Nope!

The worst part about this game is the antagonist. Don't even get me started how forgettable he is, but really, his motives are so basic and uninteresting that I just moaned any time he appeared on screen. I'm so glad the generations after that started having their evil teams be more dynamic. Guzma for the win!

Ok, I know I've been harsh with this game, but in reality, I still think there's a lot to it. I exaggerated when I said that it only had one positive, because in reality, it has quite a few! Triple battles remain (this is the last gen that had it) which are tons of fun. The national pokedex is a thing, which is very cool! Megas are very awesome visually, but really are lame gameplay wise.

However, just like Gen 5, I know people will begin to praise this game in a few years saying it was underrated and that we should've cherished what it had. I say this is easily the weakest generation of Pokemon. Gen 8 is only somewhat better.

FYI: I grew up with this Pokemon generation.

Very underwhelming entry into 3D for mainline Pokemon, especailly when it gets beat out visually by the Genious Sonority games like XD & Battle Revolution. In terms of content, this pretty much loses to Gen's 4 & 5 in almost every regard. Kalos as a region fails to leave a lasting impression; none of the locations or characters offer any real charm or personality. Team Flare is a joke, and there is little to no postgame worth mentioning outside the Looker sidequest. Mega Evolution is very hit or miss, great idea but many Pokemon who were already good get one as fanservice.

Lazy, uninspired, and the start of these games just becoming really really bad. The 3D art style doesn't fit with these games and I'd be hard pressed to say they're fun. They're insanely easy with no challenge whatsoever.

The game that got me back into Pokémon after not playing since emerald. It has its problems but was a step up at the time.

This game has a very special place in my heart, though it isn't my favorite in the Pokemon franchise. It's a very solid middle-of-the-road for me, though I did play it some time after the release.

Felt like an unfinished game.

This is honestly such a forgetable entry, it started the 3D trend, which was controversial to say the least, but imo quite necessary, i dont have issue with the 3d sprites, the story however.
Anyone remember the henchmen of the main villain??
or the names of the rivals??

This was the first Pokémon game that made me cry
