An addictive little zoo tycoon game. I admit that after a certain point, you start doing the same things, but it's a very fun game.

Fun game where you build and maintain a zoo. The Art style is nice, and there's pretty good progression through getting new animal variants. I did however find the game very repetitive, with a lot of micromanaging with some of the animal habitats, as well as managing the workers.

I'm sure there's a lot of fun here to be had for those that enjoy these kinds of games, but I don't think the game is for me.

It's definitely not the best game but I latched on and will not let go

Simplistic tycoon game and moral system is kinda cool. Funny and light hearted and not much else to say, simply a decent game that kept me entertained for a couple days.

Fun zoo building game with morals. Getting all the achievements is an arse thou.

I had a lot of fun playing this management game. Some things could be improved and some parts are pretty repetitive, however for the time I sunk into and the enjoyment it game me it deserves a high rating. If you are into management/building sims and especially when you want to make everything "pretty" this game is a blast.

to me atleast, lost playability

Creating my zoo was an absolute joy. The endorphins that flowed through me as I watched a sea of people criticize my ticket prices was heavenly. They had a lot to say but they kept coming back to see my penguins. Even when the influencer met their end in the hippo pit, they couldn't get enough. The rabbits were over flowing , people we're shocked peacocks die of old age, and my balloons were selling like hotcakes. And none were the wiser of the mysterious island that hosted unimaginable abominations. The likes that we're never meant to be seen... without a high price. At least that's what the headcanon was. If that was a mechanic I would have utilized it.

But yes, I enjoyed myself with this simulator. There we're some stressful times. You definitely need more zookeepers than you initially think. Like a lot more. And by the time you come to realize that, it's too late. Every chicken is just a pile of mush and you build 8 furnaces to get rid of them. The brightside is with that pen empty I had to the perfect spot for some turkeys.

The breeding was the most dangerous element of this game. 10 variants to obtain for each animal. Some being more diverse than others but all I knew was I would get ever kind of monkey. And I did. And then I immediately released all the kinds I didn't want and kept the funny looking one with the big nose. Once this goal was accomplished I would move on to the donkeys. Once I got the last variant from the nursery, I would just keep going to the next animal and the next. It seemed like a never ending cycle. Of course til I got bored and redid my snow-zone but I knew I would be back to see which capybara was the cutest.

What I considered to be the biggest letdown was the customization. I used all that was given to me and I still felt like I was given some very basic decorations with no variants to really theme out my areas. I feel I was given set biomes and had to work with that rather than truly given freedom to create the chaos I truly wanted while be aesthetically pleasing.

The morality was also a mechanic I never got on with. I felt no need to give in to negative morality. The benefits of positive morality seem worthwhile and I could not be convinced to give in to black market sellers, no matter how many ostriches they had.

Overall I found this to be a game where the possibilities seem endless but the limitations are real and they make perfect sense. I enjoyed the game for what it offered and didn't try to harp on it for what it did not... Okay, yes I wanted some free roaming animals. Flamingos just walk all over in some zoos... and wouldn't it be a shame if I miss clicked and accidently released a lion near the hotdog stand? That building is a lion! It's fits thematically.

here's my zoo:

A Park builder that has some Stardew vibes to it. Ultimately not a game for me but I can see this being a really solid game for people who like this type of game

A cutified zoo manager.

Let’s Build a Zoo feels like the Simcity of Zoo management, a heavily simplified but interesting sim. The art is pixelated which looks acceptable, and most tasks at the zoo are straightforward. Players need to find animals, build habitats for them and get as many people to come to the zoo to keep growing.

But Let’s Build a Zoo has a few negatives too. The tutorial is extremely weak. The gameplay is rather slow and dull, a lot of the game is just waiting for more money. My biggest complaint though is Planet Zoo is almost 3 years old and is significantly better than everything I’ve seen here. Some breeding systems will be interesting though.

Pick this up if you want a simple zoo simulator, but this has been done bigger and better, and all this game makes me think about is the other versions of this idea. Still, I did have fun looking at this, and if you have a young kid this is probably the easier version to understand.

nearly my dream tycoon sim. manages to capture that same magical feeling felt within zoo/rollercoaster tycoon while also allowing you to be an absolute bastard (or a total saint!) without bludgeoning you with some obnoxiously heavy handed peta-tier message in the process

my only gripes as of now are the mildly limited/clunky customization options (c'mon, give me differently themed skins for every building) and the lack of marine animals - i'm dying to see some shark-dogs - make it happen

that said, the developers have been actively supporting and updating it on a pretty constant basis. so hopefully this manages to become even more than it already is

thanks for the gift yuri!!!!

I love strategy game, and tycoon game is one of them. This game is fun, but some I feel like the control, is a bit cranky.
it feels tiring to do a lot of clicks. Like for example, dividing the workload for the zookeeper or the janitor. This game has a lot of room of improvement. I'll go back to this game again, if it got update for control

The concept felt very fun to begin with. However, as my zoo grew in size and I managed more employees, animals, and shops, my interest began to dwindle away. The entire "upkeep" of the zoo began to feel overwhelming and the further I progressed the less I enjoyed the game. I understand this is most likely the idea for a tycoon game like this but I don't believe this one was for me. I enjoyed the music and 8-bit animation but I moved on without completing it on my backlog journey. On to Sea of Stars!

i played zoo tycoon as a kid and i picked up this game thinking it would scratch that itch. it did, and consumed my life to boot. i played more than 40 hours of this game in two weeks. maybe not a lot for some, but for me it's uncharacteristic for one game to consume me so.

towards the end of this game's runtime (around 30 hours or so for most, it seems) this game becomes a pretty extreme drag. it becomes a chore to find the last variants of animals to trade for the last species you need. at one point i completely stopped caring about my zoo rating while i single-mindedly focused exclusively on breeding, so i could "finish" this game.

with it becoming such a chore to finish, you might think i'd rate this game poorly. just the opposite; i still love this game (part of why i was so intent on finishing it was so i didn't come to resent it), and i'm excited to play the aquarium and dinosaur dlc! ...after a long break, of course.

é legal, não chega a ser um zootycon. Estagnei em uma parte do jogo que não consigo evoluir n sei pq

It essentially becomes cookie clicker after a while.

interesting game but gets way too overwhelming quickly. i wish there was a speed option or a better way to remodel. once you add more stuff your zoo gets super cluttered. also the splicing confuses me.. i didn't know what to do with them once i got them.

also glad i gave this game another chance, the demo didn't immediately click with me, but it is very fun!

a fun little builder but has a lot of issues with dumb ai and staff not doing their jobs. the biggest thing that killed the game for me was the trading as sometimes it just took so long to get one of the animals and luck was not in my favor for the trade.

I still think it's a fun little zoo builder with a lot of customization and personalization but for me, it falls short of the older zoo tycoon games.

It's pretty good, but you seem to not get a variety of animals very often so you end up just with a bunch of ducks and bunnies and several variants thereof. I really appreciate the constant stream of quests that pop up so you have a bit of a goal in small increments, but the prizes are often just more money. I would love a way to trade money for more experience points so I could level up my park quicker.

"Someone’s going to lose their job, these ticket prices are too low" how about you mind your business 😭

The zoo gets way out of hand too quickly, it went from being relaxing to stressful in just a couple of hours. Meh

A very fun and surprisingly deep management game heavily dragged down by an unnecessarily rough research system and a level of micromanagement that can become overwhelming when your zoo becomes too big. The clunky interface doesn't help with this either.

It started as a very relaxing experience and it ended up being stressful, so I think I'm gonna stop here.

I had a lot of fun with it until I made it to this point, but I'm not really interested in playing any more and it's a shame because I was enjoying it.
