Just a very slightly worse version of the arcade release, but still perfectly acceptable as a port, especially compared to something like the NES DK. It's kind of interesting to note a lot of the more iconic sound effects came from this version rather than the original arcade release.

Jeu dans le quel on peux sauter pour avoir des pièces (un peu comme les juifs tien ^^)

Simple game in which you kill enemies and collect coins.

i thought i hated this one but its probably the best of the arcade mario games (i should probably play the original). i love the sound design here and also luigi

nes classic 7/30

Like og Donkey Kong, it's inferior to the arcade original one. It's alright to discover it for historical purposes. Consider the game beat after stage 8.

I like this game, just not this port of Mario Bros. The reason why I dislike this version of Mario Bros is because of how clunky the movement feels. The movement is extremely slippery which makes it feel terrible. The movement even hinders you when you want to attack an enemy or collecting coins in the bonus levels.

The port on Mario & Luigi Superstar Saga is wayyy better imo.

the atari port of this game has a fun song that came from a commercial where luigi is attacked by various creatures and i really like it. but i only played the nes version. it's alright!

It's simple fun, straight to the action, but you need to unplug the "Mario" part of your brain. Most people I played with took a bit of time to figure out you're not supposed to jump on the enemy, but under them.

It's not a particularly substantial arcade game and it's pretty stiff to control, but I like the general mechanics. There are way worse arcade games out there.

NES port it's alright, but inferior to Arcade's. Graphics are worse, there are no cutscenes explaining enemies' patterns, and they added another possible jump trajectory if you press it in a specific time during Mario physics, so if you are used to Arcade version, you will have some trouble with this.

Crazy how this spawned one of gaming's most iconic franchises given how meh its first entry was.

I'm still not sure how this became a whole franchise. I guess getting Super helped.

holy ass cheeks. Cant play this for more than 2 minutes, i quit lol. Was tied in a collection with Superstar Saga

A nice concept for an arcade game, pretty groundbreaking for its time but not that memorable nowadays.

Okay, I get why Mario Bros. was revolutionary back in the day, but playing it now is a bit of a slog. The jumping feels stiff, it's pretty unforgiving, and those blasted turtles keep knocking me into pits! Still, it's like a weird time capsule to see where one of gaming's biggest icons started out.

As good as the original lol, specially better controls

My favorite bit of trivia about Mario Brothers is that apparently Mario surviving from falling from the platforms was considered a “super power.” I don’t know, I think it’s just charming that their line of logic in that period of time and development followed that dying from missing a jump was the assumption. Miyamoto thought the game would be too easy and had to be convinced otherwise.

Thank god he was, because fall damage on top of the awkward controls and slippery momentum would have made this already very frustrating game unplayable.

Was pretty fun up until the crabs : (

El movimiento es algo extraño a lo que nunca me acostumbre.

the most re-released version and it's not even that good

fun with someone else probably

Just simple fun. Everyone says that the arcade version is better. I never played it, but I agree.

Stiff controls and limited appeal. The GBA version is better.

Mario Bros. is an interesting arcade game and important to video game history, but has little staying power today.

As an arcade game, your only goal is to be fun. This one is pretty fun but some of the physics feel extremely jank, even for the time.

In solo mode, the game can be repetitve since it's the exact same level display, but with different enemies. The fireball can be annoying if you aren't fast enough. However, the game can be fun in 2 players. You can play it in coop to reach the farthest level, or you can play competitively, which make the game way more fun since you try to screw your friend over.

Game #7 of my challenge

miracle that this game sprouted such a succesful franchise this game isnt very good lol

The same not very good arcade game, but with worse graphics. Literally one of the last games I would want to play on my Nes
