Eh, I just wanted to play a racing game. Jank as fuck with surprisingly fun level design (look wise not like... structurally if that makes any sense) and fun cast of characters. Items range from useless to downright broken. Lots of memories with this but there isn’t too much content. I played through all difficulties and really didn't notice a difference.

I recently went back to this game after having played it as a kid and yeah, it still has a certain charm to it. This was also way back when Spongebob was the new kid in the town hence the reason he's not even on the front cover which is Tommy instead. Just a fun bit of trivia, cause otherwise this game is like a crash team racing clone without the speed boosts you get from jumping high distances.
Competent enough kart racer that I can't fault it too much, but not very noteworthy at all in anything it does. Of course, children around the time this game came out would gravitate towards it, I remember spending several tokens at Chuck E Cheese playing it just because I could be Spongebob in a car. But I know for a fact that if you gave this game to me as a kid I would play it for like a day before going back to Diddy Kong Racing or Crash Team Racing. The pleasures of Spongebob in a car are only fleeting.
One fun fact about this game is that all of the voice lines for the racers are ripped directly from episodes of their respective shows, to the point that you can hear the background noises of the episode in some lines. Good thing Nickelodeon would never forget to provide actual voice acting for their video games ever again :).

bite-sized yet really fun and fast-paced kart racer with fantastic controls, suprisingly innovative track design, and nice touches such as objects rotating with the camera. it's woefully light on content however
i used to play this in a restaurant called beef o' bradys and a kid had lodged burger into one of the coin slots
this shit only went hard when the god forsaken pizza parlor (that his light refused to touch) you had your birthday party at didn't have the simpsons arcade game for some unimaginable reason

A little clunky, but a pretty great kart racer representing a wide range of Nicktoons. The identity of the Mystery Racer was a pretty neat reveal too.
The one hellish screech Helga does when she's hit by a weapon makes up that half a star there.
