An overall enjoyable platformer with a quirky story. Very memorable characters.
i love this in every way
Amazing art style, amazing levels, amazing writing. The gameplay is a bit janky but it's pretty rewarding to learn, there's so much to love about this game.
Great creative adventure, unique art, fun concepts
Mmmmmmm tasty I love it
This game despite what the media tells you, is NOT racist.
tavam duros tadinhos :(
irreversibly altered my friend and i's vocabulary. incredibly well written with charming and varied gameplay. the gimmicky minds and waterloo world especially are highlights but the more standard platforming levels are still pretty good imo, just wish one wasn't filled with confusion rats.
I dropped this game years ago and honestly I have no clue why I did. I actually enjoyed it, the tone and comedy is perfect, actually one of the funniest games I've played in a while. And the gameplay was surprisingly solid, most of the levels were decent. However in the middle section there is a huge chunk of levels I despised like the Gloria Theater, Milkman and Fishopolis levels while charming in their locales and characters the gameplay felt like a huge chore to experience with their focus on confusing puzzles rather than platforming. The last two levels I played (the Meat Circus and Bull Level) pulled it back but the impact of that middle section and the forced grinding the game makes you go through for figments and arrowheads makes a 6/10 feel like the only justifiable score. Oh yeah and the boss fights were ass for the most parts. I can see the sequel being way better so I'll play that at some point!
I really like this game's weirdness and charm. It has a unique style and aesthetic, which is why I'd say that it aged pretty well. There are so many creative levels in this game, because the devs could go all out, due to the unique premise of entering people's minds.
However, the controls feel a bit clunky at times, depth perception is surprisingly difficult and pretty much all boss battles are very lackluster imo. Some level objectives are also not really clear. What is more, the game's upgrade system seems super enganging at first, but I realised pretty quickly that the upgrades just aren't really worthwhile. This game could have used some more time, because it feels a bit rough around the edges.
I dont think this has aged well, but if you check it out, i recommend the PC version or the original xbox version. all playstation versions have buggy lighting/shadows and the game suffers for it.
Very, VERY solid adventure. I didn't feel compelled to go for full completion but it was a very fun game to play, to explore and find collectibles in and such. A recommend from me.
Great writing, story, character design and voice acting only slightly marked down by some frustrating platforming.
More like sicko nautes...... elol...
complicated, because while i sometimes felt like i was bashing my head against a brick wall playing this game... it's also so insanely charming that i just couldn't get mad at it, more than happy to get past whatever bullshit was thrown at me to see whatever was around the corner next.
playing this before the 2nd game made both of them much easier to appreciate to.

ok
the combat is kinda ass but not hard
the input delay on the platforming is awful at first
the beginning of the game is super slow
and meat circus is a nightmare

but even with all of this
still a 5 star game for me
still a 5 star game for me
its levels are just so unique man there is nothing like it
I've tried two times now to finish the game, because honestly theis game is a golden treasure of neat details and great writing, but GOD some parts of the game does not go easy on you. At all.
I could talk at length about this game's writing, storytelling or visual design but more than anything I'm impressed how well the gameplay holds up. Can't wait to play the sequel!
I can see how this game was novel in 2005 because there was really cool level design. But it hasn't aged great and I just couldn't keep force myself to get through the frustrating aspects of the game. I did end up watching the story to prepare for Psychonauts 2
A bad platformer held up only by it's brilliant level ideas and Tim Schafer's writing. Not something I'd want to replay, I hope the sequel and VR games are better.
The premise and the wackiness still stand out, but boy the writing has not aged well.
My personal favorite collectathon game
Still a great game, even if the version on the PlayStation store is a bad PS2 port with ugly lighting, muddy textures, low draw distance, and weird audio mixing problems. Kind of feel foolish for buying it a second time just so I can have it on my PS5, though I didn't spend much on it and I really didn't feel like hooking my 360 back up anyway.
pretty unique and charming platformer // aged shockingly well // amusing irreverent humor // has a strong early 00's America vibe with the script and overall way characters act, the slang used etc. // not the most satisfying or tight controls for platforming (A Hat in Time still the GOAT for that) but good enough // on the collectathon side I wish the figments were more opaque, was very difficult to find some for the 100%
got stuck on the milk man and just forgot but still good game
I like some of the characters, I liked levels, humor. What i dont like is THIS FUCKING PLATOFORMING SECTIONS IN THE END. So play if you want and you have enough patience for old platformers with oldschool design.

O SEGUNDO MELHOR PLATFORMER 3D JÁ FEITO
beautiful!!!
Amazing story and cast of characters, wonderfully unique soundtrack, fun platforming levels, and a lot more. This has been my favorite game since I played it on the ps2 and it will continue to be a relic and a timeless classic.
