This game is amazing. I HATE IT SO MUCH. Incredible concept. TERRIFYING. Everything I love in a horror game. EVERYTHING I HATE IN A GAME. I HATE DARKNESS, STEALTH MISSIONS AND TIMERS THIS GAME IS SO SCARY.

Really clever horror game with a cool vibe. I like this one

tattletailheads
i get it now
I actually liked this,
see i only wound up even playin this because on a twitter thread a few weeks ago a post went around reminiscing on mascot horror icons
i recognized bendy, baldi, and so on and so forth
all that jazz
but i exclaimed "what the fuck is that" when i saw tattletail in the corner
followed by nearly everyone i know erupting in "what the hell do you mean you dont know tattletail?"

and ppl callin me a grandma....
and ppl thinkin im a zygote that was too young for the internet
...

so i figured yeah!!! sure! its a short game why not! lets cut out the middle man and dive at it

tattletail's presentation kicks ass its committed to that eerie unsettling feeling thats unique to furbys as a line of toys that plagued people in the late 90s and early 00s up until i wanna say the very tail end of the 00s
furbies were popular like that because having advanced cutting edge pet technology was ""cool""
i think living doll shit is somethin thatll always hit for me idk why but its always so fun even in the event of something like Chucky where I just think its more entertaining than it is scary seeing something of toy stature try to do and achieve shit otherwise incapable of doing

But tattletail is very different from that, hes a chill little dumbass with his little friends and they need your ass' help. each day there's more tasks you gotta do and tend to tattletail's needs with, while also needing to watch out for the big stupid mightybean bitch Mama thats always buzzkilling yall havin fun

it has some moments that kinda piss me off! like how Mama's AI is suppose to teleport her away here and there on basis of if she cant see you and youre out of frame ducking around and not making noise she'll try to teleport away in hopes of actually catching you elsewhere. I think the rhythm of tending to the little tugmunch's needs and also maintaining enough light to not have them tweakin is COOL! Mostly!

Im not rlly sayin its 5/5 cream of the crop, but its a pretty solid game all things considered and i definitely think its cooler than something like baldi's
I even think playing around with how Mama cant attack unless youre directly in the line of way or youre makin so much noise she'll lunge is cool
I even wound up playing that DLC and... it was fairly short just like each individual night LMAO but it was cool the kaleidoscope has some great visual effects and i guess no loose ends are left? but it wasnt exactly with it's balls dangling out the sack u feel me?
like
The story of tattletail is pretty simple to deduce, mama is a haunted furby and you gotta help the other furbies otherwise she kills you like other representatives of waygetter and putting the soul to rest via ritual and uprooting shit using tattletail's in an.. albeit subtle as all hell way.. is PRETTY! CHILL.. there's definitely more lore going on with the promotional videos that may give more direct recalls and answers on shit
butttttttttttttt
Im satisfied! Im content
Im not really obsessing over this but I think I mightve when it was brand new?

final thoughts: im glad i made that tweet because i like being well versed in things and it always feels exhilirating and makes my eyes get all wet and starry when someone brings something to my attention and im like "WOWWWWWWWW AN EXPERIENCE IVE NEVER HAD BEFORE!" its wonderful everyone :) !! I gotta go think on wht to do for valentines again byeeee
also FUCK u mama let him rock his shit and party !!

Genuinely amazing and fun game. Heartbreaking connotations, especially with the Kaleidoscope DLC.

Детский хоррор-бродилка про мистическую игрушку и стелс от другой игрушки. Примитивно, но атмосферно и интересно.

Okay, to treat it fearly in the vogue of indie horror games it came out to, this is a good one. The scare factor is well implemented, Mama is a hell of a thing to get away from, the uneasiness feeling of not wanting to be up in the night with a litteral children-killer toy on the loose is full well made,
but dang it is quick. And you get used to the jumpscare really quick.
Aaaaaand holy hell does Tattletail is LOUD. AND A MENACE OF ITSELF TOO. The second the hide n' seek games start you can see the hunger and groom levels depleting for your vicious unamusement, knowing full well you gotta run for the brush while avoiding mama before the haunting "BruuUUSH MeEee!" voice comes in.

And don't forget the hellish nightmarish situation of finding candles in the basement in near complete dark at the end because Mama is near. And charging your flashlight is a NO GO. NEVER. THIS THING IS LOUD. VERY LOUD.

I love this game.

that knock knock jumpscare is fire

Still one of the best indie horrors of its time and it’s a shame that old Benny boy won’t return to his older projects because this one is brimming with potential. I love the games 80’s VHS style and unique gimmicks that gave the game a distinctly frustrating but iconic feeling. So much untapped potential in this games lore I’m sure of it. Seems that this game is going through a wave of nostalgia right now and I’m glad that’s the case.

This is such a good game. The sound design in this game is sooo good. The knock knock jump scare really got me i wasn't expecting mama to pop up.

Really didn't like the core game, which was frustrating more than it was scary, but liked the DLC a lot more. However, the subtextual subject matter is handled in a very mixed way, to the point where I struggle to recommend the game, even though I can see its strengths shine through in places. 2 stars for the core game, 3.5 for the DLC

é ok até porem para um jogo de terror da um total de 0 medo e é bem curto mas é interessante

This game was nostalgic to come back to after years, of being a nice classic indie horror game. While the game in general doesn't hold up horror as of now, it still can be pretty daunting at times when you don't expect it. As for gameplay, the three first nights can be a bore as there is no real horror. You mostly roam around exploring the map set-up and figuring out how the game works out at first. Nothing scary happens other than Mama appearing for a brief moment. I think they should've kept it to a minimum of 1-2 nights to get adjusted. For the other nights, it's fun to try to avoid Mama and do your task. A couple of complaints I have about Mama though is that she becomes very easy once you've encountered her a couple of times, as well and she can at times - spawn either right on top, or directly in front of you (This problem occurs often during the ritual night). The main game is pretty solid and is more of an original idea, I'd recommend it if you like free-roam mascot horror indie games (As the state of these genres hasn't been pretty as of recently)!

As for the kaleidoscope DLC, it doesn't add too much to the game. I found the letters you get to be a bit cheesy, as how they say stuff is a bit abnormal for something like Tattletail. Mama also only appears once to chase you throughout the DLC, which is quite disappointing, as she's the only thing that can kill you. However, the layout of the map in the DLC is pretty interesting and I enjoyed the creativity of it. I think the DLC could've been more interesting if they redid some parts and expanded upon it, as the total gameplay for it is around 20-30 minutes total. The DLC is free though, so at least that can make up for it. Overall, a quick-play DLC that isn't too bad, but isn't the best either.

Overall, Tattletail is a solid indie horror game with a unique concept that's worth checking out if you're a fan of mascot horror indie games. Despite some flaws, it's still a solid game. I would give it a score of 7-9 out of 10.

I don't I have ever found a game that better conveys the vibe of being a kid and sneaking out of your room at night for a snack or something and being paranoid some larger than life monster will jump out from the shadows of the basement or the living room, with emphasis on the "being a kid" part, right down to your bedroom being the only true safe space. The use of furby-like animatronics for the horror was extremely inspired imo. The aesthetics of this game are stamped into my brain permanently. Honestly, I'm really glad this game didn't have any follow ups, because it had a chance to sell out and can stand as a self contained experience, even if it sucks that this game isn't really talked about as much as its contemporaries. I mean, yes this game has its flaws but I'm fond enough of it that I'm willing to look past it. And it helps that it's dlc was fucking awesome.

feeling very down lately so i went back to a comfort game i'd only ever watched playthroughs of in the past. it's perfectly below average but i just simply like it and think tattletail's quotes and little robotic sounds are funny, feeling like its one of the less bothersome "toy horror" games or whatever.

Woke my family up at 3am. Never playing again though..

It’s actually a post-FNAF indie horror game, though only gonna use up an hour or two of your time, that’s terrifying even though it’s a fetchquest.

I don’t have much else to say, other than this game is so fun to pick back up every once in a while.

A mascot horror game that hasn't outstayed its welcome? Tattletail himself is very cute, and definitely helps temper the horror aspect of it all. Played this in one sitting in a hotel room, made for good entertainment for a couple of hours.

Unironically a good game. Kinda weird that it got the same popular fanbase like FNAF did, because it was clearly not aiming for that kinda audience, but this sorta thing was the trend at the time and it was also very obviously inspired by FNAF so its not surprising. Its got actually good scares, doesn't feel cheap, and it has just enough substance that makes it worthwhile. Collecting them eggs was a nice side hustle too, and Momma used to scare me shitless as a kid.

id give an arm and a leg to have a tattletail of my own

Probably my favorite horror game. Very short but a fun challenge that I would definitely recommend,
