Tetris Attack is deceptively simple but seriously addictive! It's got those familiar Tetris vibes but with you swapping blocks to clear groups instead of lines. The cute Yoshi's Island characters, upbeat music, and fast-paced gameplay make it the perfect pick-up-and-play puzzle game. Sure, it can get brutally tough at higher levels, and the story mode's a bit cheesy, but honestly? Tetris Attack is a classic that's still a ton of fun today.
I won't be the millionth person to say "it's not Tetris," and I won't be facetious and say "it's Tetris but better," but what I will say is that the thing it most successfully carries over from its namesake is that perfect balance of randomness and skill requirements that makes it so addicting. The Yoshi aesthetics are a neat touch, too.
Nothing to do with Tetris, but great nonetheless.
