just play bustin out
or any other sims game

A friend showing me that you could make two men woohoo in this when I was a kid is how I learned about gay people.

My sister's family was the Sparklesteins. Mine was the Moorcocks.

Played this all day every day once upon a time. Got burgled, then built from ground zero on a constant basis.

This was fricken delightful to play, i bloody loved this game. i loved all the drama you could get into, i loved the random jobs you could get, i loved the music played on the radio, but sometimes it did feel like things all happened too fast or too slow. like trying to get everything done in one day always ended with them getting mad at me for making them clean when they were tired....

Not one of the best Sim ports. I played it anyway! The more linear career mode was kind of fun, but it was definitely lacking in the controls department (having played on Gamecube), and wasn't as fleshed out as the PC version.

I can still imitate some of the Simlish conversations. This game was great but had one of the most terrifying horror tracks in gaming in the form of the "intruder" music.

Me and my sister were making people have sex and launching fireworks inside catching everyone on fire at age 6 & 8.

Some of my best gaming memories playing on the family PC as a kid were on this game. A really indepth fun game at the time. Still want a robot butler IRL to this day

I hold this game near and dear to my heart, but -0.5 a star because the burglar theme would scare me shitless as a child

great game but nowadays it serves mostly for nostalgia, I doubt there are any active the sims 1 players due to its limitations, but it's still pretty fun but it gives no nostalgia to me whatsoever since I grew up with the sims 2 (also when I played it as a kid ts3 was already out and for a bit ts4 too but I only played ts2)

I didn't grow up with this one so much, but holy shit was this game fun despite its age.

Absolute classic. Wasted an entire summer of my adolescence here. Zero regrets.

The Sims on Gamecube offers a unique twist on the classic life simulation formula. While the core gameplay retains the familiar charm of managing your Sims' needs, relationships, and careers, the Gamecube version introduces a story-driven "Get a Life" mode. This mode adds objectives and challenges that provide a sense of progression missing from the open-ended PC original. However, the console controls can feel a bit clunky compared to the mouse-driven PC experience, and some of the graphics haven't aged particularly well. Overall, The Sims on Gamecube is a fun and nostalgic experience for fans of the franchise, even if it lacks the depth of its PC counterpart.

What can I say about The Sims? A game genre that dared to be different and was extremely successful because of that, releasing numerous packs over the years that added more items, pets and so much more!

This series ended up being quite the money magnet for it's creators, though only for a niche audience, let's be honest. Not everyone will love this kind of game and to essentially play your own fantasy life with hilarious consequences like trying to make breakfast and causing a fire that kills everyone!

Being the first, it was pretty limited and the additions were pretty dizzying. Especially for a game of it's kind of this time too. This was long before companies were abusing their games with microtransactions.

My ex actually, showed me how you can kill a sim. One popular way I knew was removing the ladder to the pool when they're in it and they eventually drown, but she took pleasure in tormenting the mini version of her brother by having him sealed in a room to starve to death. Pretty funny how this game could allow you to be as sadistic as possible and I often found the personalities of the Sims would reflect their real life counterparts pretty well. To a scarily accurate degree as the series went on.

The Sims was bombastic, life-changing, even, back in the now ancient year of 2000.

I swear to y'all: I couldn't wrap my childish mind around the idea of a life simulation game hyped to be so deep. It wasn't as deep as I expected back then (I expected The Sims 3 right off the bat), but it was amazing as it was.

The Sims 1 is iconic. Now that I'm balding and getting a pouch belly, I think a lot about Bob Newbie, who was bald, had a pouch, and what looked like garbage juices spread around his clothes. I've never looked as dirty as Bob Newbie, but, who knows? Give me some time.

The songs are a whole thing in this game. Are children ready for jazz? Are children ready for the most melancholic piano pieces since the XIXth century? People at Maxis judged this questions and decided that yes, children deserved to hear amazing, mature music.

I remember the somberest of pieces, which popped in sometimes in building mode. That song made me suddenly reflexive and a little afraid. Sometimes I got a prank call a little after hearing the somber song. "You have been warned. They're coming for you" - said the trickster looking happy mask on the phone. After that, young me could barely move his legs to the kitchen to drink a glass of water. The Sims 1 spooked me like that.

I used a bazillion cheat codes for TS1. If you think that real adults lives are too busy, grindy and unrewarding, you should really experience The Sims 1 to see how bad all that stuff can get. The Sims 1 is a distopic capitalist experience. I'm sure that someone already defended this on some reddit post or youtube video, because it is so true. The Sims 1 is a game in which you NEGLECT YOUR NEEDS in order to PROGRESS at WORK, and you'll HAVE NO FRIENDS.

You'll poop for FORTY MINUTES, cook for TWO HOURS, call someone to your house, and then hug them until your sim FALL ON THE FLOOR FROM EXAUSTION. The time economy is bananas, and it is crooked against you.

Will I ever play The Sims 1 again? I don't think so. But I'll never forget this game and all the ideas and experiences that surrounded it. I love The Sims.

used to play with my cousin when I was a teen. we killed everybody and built a cemetery in the backyard

Although very limited, it was ahead of its time.

It was my addiction before Sims 2 was released. The Thief alert song is still eerie till nowadays!

I have a distinct memory of this game. It killed my first PC; the disc I had to install it genuinely exploded within the disc tray, causing shards to fly around, cutting wires and causing short circuits. The entire thing was basically fried. 10/10 experience.

finally owning the Sims after being gifted it for my birthday was nice I killed Mortimer goth by the classic pool method and then made Mario pass out on the floor

I was just a little kid when I played this one and I guess I was too young to understand. The graphics were really ugly but it was a fun game (I absolutely hated every time I got robbed because I was always forgetting to add a damn alarm to the house).

i blinked and 4h passed by, like this game is so nostalgic and amazing

Absurdo!
